DEAD WEST

Gigantic Graphic Novels has provided Newsarama with a five page preview of Dead West, their June-debuting Western.

The synopsis of the OGN reads:

During the westward expansion, a small Indian village is wiped out to make way for the settlement town of Lazarus. Years later, a single surviving Indian child returns as a grown man to enact his revenge. He places an ancient curse on the town in which the dead rise from their graves to prey on the living. Into this inferno wanders a bounty killer on the hunt for a fugitive. He’s no hero, he couldn’t care less about this dusty town or its rotting problems. He has men to kill, even if he has to raze the town to do it.

Dead West will run 144 pages and retail for $14.95.

I'm a sucker for westerns and this looks pretty good. The Walking Dead meets The Man with No Name. Oh yeah....I'm buying this.

Looks fun. I've got Teenagers from Mars in my stack of unread comics, so if that lives up to the praise, then I'll definitely look for this book!

You've got to put Teenagers From Mars on the top of your reading list. In my opinion it is the best comic to come out in the last 2-3 years. I loved that book.

Can't wait to see Dead West. I'm a huge fan of Rick and Rob and picked up the preview at SPX last October. It looks good and will be fun to see them tackle yet another genre.

Yay!
More stuff from comic's dynamic duo!

Just watched The Good the Bad and the Ugly the other day, so some Clint flavored western material is in order...
(though I thought the protagonist looked a smidge like Macon...)

I agree. One of the best if not the best. I've got to reread them in one sitting.

Sounds good, but...

Indian curse...Zomibies... Bounty Hunter... I liked this story back when it was called DEAD IN THE WEST by Joe R. Landsdale (although it was a gunslinging Preacher not a bounty hunter).

Are they just reprinting the two issue Dark Horse series which adapted Joe R. Landsdale story or is this a new interpretation?

Yeah, it looks so good! Kinda like Wicked West (vampires in a Western).
