Wow, some good news, some bad news. Like first, some good news: Avengers #500 Director's Cut. Ultimate Elektra mini-series! Ultimate Nightmare mini-series, by Warren Ellis! X-Men: The End by Claremont and Chen! X-Force returns by original team! That's all some very cool news. Bad news: Xorn returns by the hands of Austen (yeah... at least the character used to mean something). X-Statix is ending. Runaways is ending (kinda). No Kabuki this month. That's all some very sad news. Some confusing news: Secret War is no longer quarterly? Ultimate Spidey #54 variant story? Dr. Spectrum mini-series (I'm down with this and all, but what happened to Supreme Power)? Very strange news, indeed. Sounds like a mixed month, but all leaning towards good in the end.

I might have overlooked it, but I can't find mention of Supreme Power in the solicitations. Sheesh, it's going to ship three or four weeks late this month, and nothing for August. I hope this book isn't running out of steam.
No Kabuki, either. Is this scheduled for every other month? Because I'm definitely going to be adding a few DC titles to my list in August, I was planning on cutting back on Marvel. But it looks like I'm going to have to stay in the range of 12 titles here. I'll probably sample Ultimate Elektra, and I know Secret War will be there as well. Plus Silver Surfer and several Spidey and FF titles. Dang. I better start saving my pennies now. |

I was hoping Ultimate Nightmare would be a bunch of supernatural characters like Ghost Rider getting the Ultimate treatment. I'll be interested to see further details on that title.
Ultimate Elektra? Well, I would've been fairly apathetic if I hadn't seen who was writing it! Like Batboy, Mike Carey rocks my 16-year old world. Why DC isn't taking full-advantage of his talents is something I can't quite figure out. Runaways ending. Well, it's my favorite Marvel title, but I knew it was coming so I'm kind of prepared. I just hope it concludes in a satisfying way. It looks like Silver Surfer has at least another arc left. Hurrah! Was Thanos officially cancelled with July and I just missed it? Cay |
