B CLAY MOORE JOINS IMAGE AS PR & MARKETING COORDINATOR

Press Release

Image Comics announced today that HAWAIIAN DICK writer B. Clay Moore has signed on as the company's Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator.

Since jumping into comics editing Slave Labor Graphics’ Love in Tights with writer J. Torres in 1998, Moore has split time between comic books and various "real world" sales and marketing jobs. In 2002, he began his relationship with Image Comics when he and artist Steven Griffin created the critically-acclaimed HAWAIIAN DICK. Moore and Griffin recently sold the film rights to HAWAIIAN DICK to New Line Cinema, and a second miniseries is scheduled to debut in August.

With the leap to Image full-time, Moore hopes to assist in realizing the vision put forth by Publisher Erik Larsen and Managing Editor Eric Stephenson.

"I think Image Comics is not only a terrific publisher, but a vital cog in the industry," said Moore. "Whether people care to admit it or not, Image helped revolutionize the way comics are made, and I honestly believe a strong Image is good for the industry as a whole. I want to do anything in my power to promote awareness of the terrific things going on at Image these days. My goal is to be a visible, easily accessible and tireless promoter of Image Comics."

"Clay's going to do some fantastic things for Image," promised
Stephenson. "In addition to being a wonderful writer, he's also a keen observer of this industry who brings a wealth of experience from outside comics to this job. He's a smart guy with a good grasp on how the business works, and we really couldn't be more excited about adding him to our team."

What good news! One of comic's better creators, first, and tireless promoters, second, has just switched that list around! I think Mr. Moore is an excellent addition to Image and I'm excited to hear that we'll all be hearing more about Image.

I've really enjoyed everything B. Clay Moore's worked on so far (especially Hawaiian Dick) - and I'm absolutely pumped about the upcoming Battle Hymn (I think that's the right title - I believe it was formerly 'Anthem'?). Its always cool when creators that I like continue their success - best of luck, B. Clay Moore!

Is this why the second Hawaiian Dick mini has never shipped? Or did I just miss that entirely somehow???

Is this a new position within the company, or is he replacing someone? Either way, hopefully it brings the desired results. Couldn't agree more that Image is important to the industry, and that it could certainly benefit from more attention to it's ongoing variety of offerings.

Congratulations Clay! Great to see Image add some one to the staff who has a real feel for the retailer side of things.

The real question is how will Image survive without those 2-3 issues of Kabuki a year?

Clay: start working on the press release to anounce the return of Powers to the Image family once the Marvel creator owned line folds due to lack of support from managment in New York. Or once Bendis is chased from the office because the Powers movie didn't have Avi as the executive producer !

This is great news for Image! Clay is an extremely bright and talented guy, and if Image is willing to overlook his homely appearance, then more power to them. This is truly an inspiring story, and a great day for hunchbacked albino midgets everywhere!

Congrats!
