Y'know, it's not that I disagree with Marvel's position on the X-franchise here. But I have to say, I simply don't trust them to actually make any real changes anymore.

Quesada says the mutants that are going away are staying gone. Well, didn't he already say that "dead means dead?" That's clearly not held true. I hate to be so cynical, but I just have to figure we'll see someone write a story in a couple of years about how the missing mutants were, I dunno, in the Heroes Reborn Universe or something this whole time. And then Quesada will again amend his statement to mean that they were only going away until someone came up with a "REALLY GOOD" story for bringing them back.

And I find it kind of amusing that he says reducing the mutant population has been a goal of his since he took over as EiC. Well, that's been five years or so, right? What the hell took so long? And on top of that, didn't he claim that Morrison's New X–Men was going to do this?

Again, I hate to be the cynical ass here, but this just sounds like so much "been there, heard that, turned out it wasn't true."
