The Killer (http://www.daradja.com/killer_preview.html) is a damn fine French comic being reprinted for us lowly Americans. Just two issues are out now and it appears to be on a rather funky release schedule, but this 10 issue mini, so far, is pure gold.
I've kind of been pipming it out on the talk@'s weekly "The List" threads but let's give it it's own spot--I checked all four pages of this board and saw no mention of it, or much else. So if you're reading it then this is the place to extol its greatness. If you are not reading it, which most of you are and shame on you for it, then maybe this (http://www.daradja.com/killer_preview.html) will get you on board.

Love it. Great atmosphere, gorgeous art.
And I believe it's bi-monthly.

I'm loving KIller so far. It's different from most comics I read in that almost the entire thing -- at least in the first two issues -- is presented as introspection by the main character. I know there's a long way to go yet, but the action's already heating up, particularly with what happened at the end of #2.
Matz is telling an intriguing tale from an interesting perspective. But for us readers of the Archaia series, Luc Jacamon is the real star. Not only is his artwork stylistic, expressive and cool, but he translates the text into English. And I must say, the translation is quite good. The introspection has a natural "feel" to it, which is something I find lacking in many translated comics.

The translation has been top-notch. Not once have I felt like I was missing something by not reading it in the French. I'm already looking forward to issue #3!

I'm already looking forward to #3, too. I wish this were on a monthly schedule, and can't really understand why it's not. It is a reprint after all. It would have been cool if it just came out as graphic novel, but then I might not have picked it up. Whatever.
This is the first thing I've picked up from ASP, but I hear great things about Mouse Gaurd, so I'll have to check them, and the creators of this comic of course, out further. If this book stays this good through to the end, this will be pretty magnifique.:D (Sorry my French is fairly poor. And by that I mean nonexistant.)

Mouse Guard HC comes out in April. Pre-order it as soon as February comes around!
Also try Okko: Cycle of Water from ASP. Story-wise, it's not as good, but it's got some of the same beautiful art (especially colors).
And the inside cover of The Killer states that this series ran from 98-03, so this might be a condensed version. Not sure. I do, of course, wish it was on a monthly schedule, too.

Anyone pick up #4 yet? Still rockin' huh? I'll get mine today or tomorrow.

This (#4) was really good. Felt a little bit like a conclusion of sorts and this would explain why the first 4 issues are being released in a vol.1 hardcover. The next story arc (5-10) looks to be great as well. I sure hope when all is done that they can get this whole thing under one hardcover. I really don't want two books.

Fans of the Killer might be happy to know that here in France, first tome of a new story has just been published...
And it is very very very good !

It's been so long since I've seen a new issue of The Killer on the shelf, I was wondering if I may have missed it. Was #4 still the last one out? Cheers.
EDIT: Never mind. Just noticed 5 and 6 are out tomorrow. Wasn't listed on Diamond's list by THE Killer, just Killer.

I missed the first bunch of issues so I think I'll just pick it up when/if its collected. It looks pretty sweet though.

Does it make any sense to the readers of this thread that the two new issues of the Killer, both #5 and #6 are coming out today? Does anyone know why this happened this way?
