Due to circumstances completely beyond his control, Richard Starkings has informed us that Elephantmen #3 has shipped a week late, for an in-store date of 10/4. "Without going into too much detail," Starkings told Newsarama, "Comicraft's Secret Weapon, JG, delivered the files for #3 more than a week early and the books ended up leaving the printer a week late. Moritat and I were pretty devastated as we've been knocking ourselves well and truly out of shape in order to ensure that our book appears every month without fail. Well, apologies were made, the whip has now been sharply cracked and I'm assured that issue #4 will follow #3 into stores without missing a beat just two weeks afterwards."

To help Elephantmen fans recover from this unexpected delay, Image Comics has released ten (count 'em) exclusive preview pages from both issues #3 and #4 as well as the covers to #5 by Ladrönn and Starkings' fellow Brit, Chris Weston.

The first two issues of this series have been excellent. I just got #3 and it looks just as good.

um what's going on here?? A publisher apologizing for a book being one week late and genuinely sounding like they feel bad about it?? If I wasn't already enjoying the hell out of this book, I might just have picked it up to reward a publisher for actually treating the readers and retailers with respect and professionalism.
