Not me!

If it usually has a one shot that's fine but I don't think any series should be limited like that.

It's rare to find a writer who can pull it off.

I have to agree that few writers would be able to do all one-shots in an interesting way. Maybe if it went to a 32-page bimonthly it would work.

I would, however, like to see both books go to anthology style books- with Batman/Superman backups anchoring stories focused on various other aspects of the DCU.

I'm still loving Detective but I'm starting to feel a little less meat on the bones with each issue. Some of these stories should have been two-parters instead of wrapping up so quickly.

I vote NO on this topic for that reason.

I like Action Comics as it is right now. First time I actually enjoyed the book in over a decade. If it ain't broke...

I agree. With the occasional two-parter thrown in for good measure.

I'd like to see more 1 or 2-parters in comics in general. I'd lean more towards 2-parters than 1. But it seems kind of ridiculous to tell a writer he HAS to always work in that format for a book.

Better then, to find a writer who wants to work in that format. It's not like they have to be limited to 1 or 2 shots, but too many multiparters can water down a run like too many one-shots. Look at Bendis. The guy can't write a done-in-one to save his life. Or even a series of done-in-ones.

And yeah, there's nothing more painful than reading what should comfortably be a 4-part series, stretched into 6 issues... EXCEPT... reading what should comfortably be a 4-part series, crammed into one issue.
