No, I'm not surprised. DC already announced that Wonder Woman would be on a bimonthly schedule and most of the other delays are either the result of the previous issue shipping late (Teen Titans, Green Lantern, Supergirl and JLA are now expected to ship four or five weeks after the previous issue) or collections which are often delayed.
I have to wait an entire bloody month for my next Green Lantern fix?!?! Well thats it, screw you Reis, i dont care how pretty you make Hal Jordan look, i wanted my story TODAY.

You didn't honestly expect #14 two weeks after the last issue, did you ?
I hope they will either get the book back to a monthly schedule soon or stop soliciting it every month. If they don't want a fill-in artist or the inker finishing from Reis' breakdowns they should just solicit the nine or ten issues Reis can do in a year.

I'm afraid it will end up a quarterly at best. :( Hopefully editors will learn their lesson and not solicit anything written by Heinberg before his run is done in the future.

I kinda hoped that with issue 13 having taken so long, maybe he could have been working on issues simultaneously and caught up a little, but no, i was deluding myself.
As good as all these modern stories are, the delays are really starting to kill my buzz. The idea of a monthly is that they release them MONTHLY. If they cant manage that then have the balls to admit you cant handle it and make everything BI-MONTHLY. Sure it pisses me off when Joss Whedon only manages a single issue of Astonishing X-Men once every two months, but at least he has the balls to admit it and solicits the issue when we'll actually get it!
All this "im sorry, McNiven needs an extra two months to finish a single issue of our giant tentpole crossover which we've been planning for ages but cant seem to release..." is gonna drive me nuts.
And yet DC manage to put out a WEEKLY comic when they cant manage MONTHLY. What the f*ck is that!
Thats right....im slightly peeved...

Whoa. What happened? DC used to be a lot better about shipping stuff on time.
*shrugs*
Oh, well. Not really a big deal to me anyway.

I agree. That is the professional thing to do. Another good example is Brad Meltzer who had all of his JLofA issues written before the first one hit the stands and he doesn't agree to write a series unless he knows he as the time to get it done.

But yeah - it's pretty obvious that they were behind on the title. From the interview, it seems back on track:
We’re trying to get everything on schedule, and the fact that Ivan’s into #15 right now, and #14 is on track for the next couple of weeks…hopefully, we’ll get things back on track. So Ivan Reis is working on the book coming out in November - that's a good sign. The current schedule is:
GL 13 - September 13
GL 14 - October 25
GL 15 - November 22
GL 16 - December 27
I'm sure that these issues will be spaced out a bit more - maybe 6 weeks between one or 2 issues instead of 4. But if the book comes out pretty close to that schedule, that'd be cool. And it would mean DC shipped 10 issues of GL in 2006. Compared to a lot of other books, that's not all that bad. Fingers crossed!

The only thing it's holding up for me is New Frontier itself. That sucks. Whatever I guess November is Darwyn Cooke month then.
Superman: Confidential, Absolute New Frontier, and Spirit/Batman. My birthday's in November too so that's cool.

Me too. :(
See, those are the only type of schedule changes that make me go WTF? The material has been finished for months and in some cases years. How can they possibly be late?

1. Slow boat from china has been shunk.
2. Printer error.
3. Spreading out material to not overwhelm the buying public (A: Kingdom Come and A: Batman may have put the hurting on some wallets.).

1. Slow boat from china has been shunk.
Okay, you got me on that one. :p
2. Printer error. Possibly but sometimes these date changes are made so far in advance that it makes this scenario seem kind of unlikely.
3. Spreading out material to not overwhelm the buying public (A: Kingdom Come and A: Batman may have put the hurting on some wallets.).
Again, possibly but if this were in fact the motivation you'd think they would have considered that when they decided on the solicitation date in the first place.

Yeah, no kidding... ridiculous the amount of delays lately!
DC launched new series (i.e. Wonder Woman, Green Lantern) and they can't even make a monthly schedule - GL & WW are major DC characters - they SHOULD be shipping monthly!!!!!!!!!!! I mean you don't see Superman or Batman late much do you?!
I guess DC stands for 'Delayed Comics'
