URGENT: SUPPORT STRANGE GIRL!

Hey everyone. I've got some depressing news. Rick Remender, creator of Strange Girl, posted on his Image board that in the near future, Strange Girl's pricetag will be moving up from 2.99 to 3.50. This is not the depressing part. The depressing part is that Rick said that the jump in price is so that the book can continue to be published. This means that Strange Girl is in danger. I IMPLORE and URGE anyone and everyone to give this book a chance. Go pick up the first 2 trades (they are very, very affordable), and then if you enjoy it, add the title to your monthly pulls.

This book is simply put, amazing. IMO, it is Remender's best work out there. Even better than Fear Agent. The story is about Bethany, a young girl whose family leaves her behind when the Rapture occurs, and they ascend without her. Bethany is left to grow up in a world abandoned by God, and left to the demons of Hell. The book is pure horror/occult fun. Beautiful, stylistic art by both the old artist Nguyen, and the new one Stakal. Comedic and at the same time serious, this is one of THE BEST books being put out by Image, no, by any comic book company PERIOD. So please, support this book so that it may most importantly stay on the shelves for all of us to enjoy, and perhaps even jump back down in price.

Oh I still buy it. I just like Fear Agent the mostest, especially after the sketch Rick did for me in Seattle. :)

Honestly, the publisher doesn't matter to me. Good comics are good comics. If its better for the book, I'm all for it. If it gets a few new people interested, excellent. I have to admit, I kind of like seeing that two of my favorite books are getting a push from Dark Horse, Rex Mundi and Fear Agent.

Its better than Fear Agent. To me, Fear Agent has become a hub of overused cliches.

I was about to axe it, but my wife enjoys it still. So- if the price increase of singles to 3.50 is for good-maybe I'll go trade format.

hey, if it wasn't for people on the 'rama recommending it, I probably would've never even heard of Strange Girl, much less want to try it out! :)

Not everything are winners, but there are plenty of other gems. I'm also enjoying Remender's Fear Agent, Sea of Red and Classic BSG...

I think that the Image Central website had a full issue preview of one of the issues and other great solid books like Godland and Girls. I'll continue to support those three as long as they're put out. Great stuff.
