While goofing around Wikipedia once, I found out that the Legion of Super-Heroes once let a member in named False Pretenses Lad... and then were surprised when he ended up being a traitor!
If it was a halfway normal name, it'd be something, but you can't make it any more obvious without calling him I Will Betray The Legion Boy.
Anyone else have any comics memories as silly?
almost any comics from the 50's....

Someone not dying from radition.
Someone dressing in brightly colored tights, possibly with a name that uses an animal's name, but being SUPER SERIOUS all of the time.

Unfortunately, Wikipedia didn't say. All I can suggest is net searching for "False Pretenses Lad" and seeing if anything comes up.

What?! False Pretenses Lad? Wow they must have had no respect for the audience to put something like that out.

Actually, the character never was named. "False Pretenses Lad" is a nickname by internet wags for the character. Adventure Comics #327.

Then I guess I was misled by Wikipedia. Oh well. Still a fun thread.

The 50's and the 60's (Probably some of the 70's too) had lots of stuff that's almost too goofy to believe is real.
It is though, and you can get a taste for them on www.superdickery.com

Nothing as silly that pops out right now. But you reminded me of this: Little known funny facts about the Legion (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21844)
