Intro: Warning! This review will be EXTREMELY positive!
Production Value:
Pros:
I'll start off by saying the the production value on every book that arcade puts out is over the top, they pay special attention to the paper stock, they always have a nice thick glossy stock, and this book is no exception. The interior paper is thicker and stiffer then marvel/dc's cover stock. I actually dropped my book at the comic shop and it didnt get a ding on it. The colors are magnificent, they obviously spent some time working with the printer on getting this book just right. The colors are vibrant and alive, they practically jump off the page. Dash martin really outdid himself this time.
Cons:
While the paper stock looks better then anything out there on the market currently, I still prefer the paper used in the early Youngblood books issues 6-10, only because of the smell. Im a wierdo about paper stocks and I am never happy unless its my favorite stock. The only thing about this paper stock I dont like is the smell of the pages so take that for what it is.
Story:
Basically it starts off with a war between John Prohet and Crypt, the badest of the bad guys. Joanna prophet is there from the future trying to stop something in a possible future from happening, we find out all the info from the internal dialogue of Joanna. The battle Rages on and Joanna loses an arm to crypt, senses impending danger and puts out an all points distress signal to all superhero's from all reality from all times, to bring the hammer down on crypt. Jazmine and Jericho port in and use a sort of arc rope to slice crypt and prophet in half, talking about how they gotta kill everyone with the prophet bloodline. Including joanna prophet, Jericho Pulls a gun on her and shoots her while she's down.
Cut to the battle that was begun in the first one shot, Nitrogen #1, Between nitrogen and the league of infinity, They send out an all points distress signal as well, for more help with taking nitrogen down. The battle rages for pages, Nitrogen is wrecking house, when a whole team of hero's ports in, responding to the all points signal, among them are suprema and warchild, and a host of others, they talk about how there gonna open up a can on nitrogen, To Be Continued...
Pros
Balls out, in your face action, I loved it. One thing I love about Liefelds books, is he is not afraid to have characters die in battle, main characters, not just supporting cast. His superhero books are really more a look at what it would look like if people in this world really did have powers like this and what would go down. I really appreciate his commitment to telling grand epic action adventures without pulling any punches!
Cons:
I only wish it was a little longer, since we have to wait a while between issues, arcade is a really small publisher and only comes out with a few books a year, I appreciate them throwing the fans of these characters a bone, but I would love to see a monthly title from these guys! I also would love to see some quiet scenes, I love balls out action issues, but I would love to see a little bit of these characters everyday lives. Not too much, just a little, but I get it that there really isnt room for that in a grand action story like this.

Jon Malin's finest work yet!, His layouts are dynamic and dramatic, his lines are clean and precise, this guy is the worlds next comic book superstar. I cant wait to see what he does next

The colors, again, are spectacular, They really jump off the page and add a ton of depth to the images.
Basically, I just want to reccomend this comic to everyone, I really enjoyed it thouroughly and I think alot of people will. Check it out. Go to WWW.ROBLIEFELD.NET to find out more. Or chat it up with Rob and Jon on the message boards.
