Press Release

Top Cow Productions has added a seasoned veteran to its staff, who will bridge both business and creative affairs. Filip Sablik has assumed the role of Vice President of Marketing & Sales, where he will develop and implement large-scale marketing, advertising, and promotional efforts, working closely with Top Cow's promotional partners. He will be heavily involved with Top Cow's trade show presence, developing Top Cow's website and weekly “Moosletter,” and become the primary contact point for retailers and press.

“Filip was a great guy to work with, and instrumental to Top Cow's success when he was at Diamond Comics Distribution,” said Top Cow President Matt Hawkins. “I know for quite some time, he's had a creative urge he's been itching to scratch as well, and we're happy to help him do that as well.”

Sablik was an Assistant Manager of the Print Team in Purchasing Department at Diamond, where he managed accounts as diverse as Dynamic Forces, Slave Labor Graphics, Fantagraphics Books, Cartoon Books, and Image Comics. Sablik's duties will eventually encompass editorial tasks at Top Cow as well. In his spare time, he freelances as an illustrator and comic artist.

“I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining a publisher as innovative and exciting as Top Cow Productions,” Sablik remarked. “Marc Silvestri was an early favorite artist in my teenage years, along with the other Image founders. Fifteen years later, Top Cow is as hip and cutting-edge as when Marc founded it. I can't wait to start interacting with fans and retailers alike and getting the word out on all the exciting projects we have coming up!”

Congratulations to Filip. I remember when he was a still-wet-behind-the-ears Customer Service rep for Diamond. Just when we had him trained the way we wanted, Purchasing snapped him up, and he's continued to climb. Again, best wishes for the new job.
