Is the Shark Guy in the Green Lantern: No Fear collection the same Shark Guy that is running around with Aquaman?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: an obsessive fanboy will be with you shortly to explain the entire histories of both characters.

No. The Shark from GL is called, cleverly enough, The Shark, is basically a big dumb killing engine.

The Shark from Aquaman is King Shark, a former foe of Conner Kent/Kon-El Superboy (& some say ripoff of Mako from Savage Dragon) who is more intelligent.

His best story is probably "Watery Grave" where he's part of a Superboy-led Task Force X team made up of them + Deadshot, Knockout (continuity buff alert!), Captain Boomerang I, & Superbody enemy Fourarm.

The Shark as he originally appeared in Green Lantern was a Silver Age created villain. As he first appeared he was *actually* a shark, one who was jumped up the evolutionary ladder to the point where he was able to manifest a humanoid appearance and actually also had telekinetic and telepathic abilities. He was also extremely intelligent and "fed" off of the brain waves of humans.

By the time The Shark appeared in the "No Fear" collection he had been experimented on by aliens and transformed into a much more physically powerful form but also one that was far stupider.

Thanks guys, it was a bit confusing seeing two Shark guys running around the DCU at the same time.

Particularly since Busiek and Johns were working together on Superman/Action, I just assumed they might have co-ordinated with the Shark Guy.

Blame Johns, the original looked nothing like what appeared in the recent Green Lantern. In fact originally he looked more like a guy with a shark head.
