As you all can see the two cover's do reveal the line up as it's already established in the Michael Turner cover, minus a few members.

BUT... as some people have been mentioning, the covers have been changed to reflect the current DCU. The one thing that stuck out to me the most when I was looking at both covers was that Booster Gold has been edited out of them massive group. Also, Kyle Rayner is shown in his new Ion suit, and Batwoman also appears on the Green Lantern cover.

So, that should be another possible nail in the Booster Gold coffin... but I just wanted to mention that to you all... interesting stuff all around.

Cover is still fantastic too. :)

So this is just in keeping with DC's policy to not show any of the key 52 players One Year Later until after 52 has concluded.

They probably let Captain Atom slide for that reason; it wasn't really spoiling or distorting anything since he still looks like good 'ole Captain Atom under the Monarch armor.

Roy is only on the team so he can die. Seriously, any threat that this team needs to handle would kill Roy in about 5 seconds. Then Green Arrow will join the team, start hooking up with Black Canary, Flash will join in place of Vixen, and we'll have a damn-near perfect JLA.

That's cool. Like I said, I'm hoping some of the non-big3 characters can grow in this book. I like having the big 3 there, but they each have enough books on their own. Vixen, Black Lightning, Red Tornado, and Roy all should and hopefully will be the primary focus at least early on.

I know you are not one of the Roy haters, and even if you were, that's cool. I just find it funny when others say he is not JLA worthy, because their favorite character was left out. I want Lobo to join the JLA but it's not in the cards for now, and I am not saying to throw out Roy, Vixen, Black Lightning, or somebody else, to make room for Lobo because I don't decid the roster, the writer and editors do.

I'm loving this mineup: Red Tornado, Vixen, Arsenal, Hawkgirl. I couldn't have picked a better lineup. Except maybe throw in Martian Manhunter.

There are some characters I would have preferred over some of the ones shown here, but overall I’m pretty happy with this lineup and I’m looking forward to it. With the exception of one character, Vixen, she’s just never done anything for me as a character and just never seemed like a good fit for the league IMHO. Besides her this is a pretty good lineup in my mind, can’t wait to see the 11th member.

I'm very excited about this book.

I just hope Brad stays true to the characters personalities and doesn't just write the same personalities from other former teammates right back into the mix. For example, Brad admitted he's not a fan of writing Martian Manhunter....so he throws in Red Tornado and gives him the same serious/deadpan personality (I'm an android, not a martian, but our personalities are the same) and doesn't have Wally available, so he picks Arsenal to be the Titan to graduate and gives him the "Wally is light hearted and funny guy" personality. Then Brad wants Hal on the team, but by adding Black Lightning, he can still have the "John Stewart, the drill seargent from JLU" personality.

I hope I'm wrong...I hope Black Lightning is the BL of old, who worked with Batman as an original Outsider...etc.....

That's true, but I'm referring to basically what the league has been since the Morrison era--the big guys for the big threats. I would say that Meltzer could have more leverage in this area if he didn't include the Big 3--but with Batman, Supes, and WW on board I can't imagine them not taking it seriously and not combatting the heaviest of the hitters. Once those three are there (and maybe GL too), I see this as a "most powerful heroes" league and not a "bwa-ha-ha" or any other iteration. Roy doesn't deserve to stand with those three, since they set a standard for any group in which all three play a role.

And Bwahaha Plastic man does? Even Morrison used a goofball character in his run. Roy can be just as effective in the JLA as Batman if Meltzer writes him as so. Any writer could turn Roy into the top gun of the JLA if they wanted to. This whole "deserves" thing is a just p!ss poor excuse for hating on a character. Just come out and admit you hate a character, and stop using the "does not deserve" excuse, because every hero character deserves a shot at the big time or how else can they ever become big time?
