I've never really had interest in the new Supergirl, not enough to buy one of her issues anyway. And I usually only give a passing glance at her solicts too. But come November, they've apparently have Batgirl going to be in it!

Yes, she's going to be in her League of Assassins role (although I'm not sure how they'll explain how she's doing both that and Titans East), but they say she has something that will weaken Supergirl, so that's rather interesting.

I have a good theory on what that weakness is, and it's not as simple as Kryptonite. I won't say anything just yet, as I don't want to spoil anyone, but if you read Batgirl's series, you might have a good idea what it is. I certainly hope they don't actually use Kryptonite, because my concept is much better.

Spill it, you tease. :p

As for the issue itself, I think it sounds good. I want to see what Joe Kelly can do with Supergirl.

Fine. It is........

Ma and Pa Kent.

If you read Batgirl's series, you would know that she had a brief romance with Superboy, who told her where he lived at the Kent Farm. And at one point she took a train to Kansas and visited him. Although she didn't actually meet Ma or Pa, she was in their home. Now that she's in her 'Evil" persona, she could decide to look into that old couple and see how they were related to Superboy or Superman, and then use them to blackmail the Supers.

What do you think?

Good theory, but Kara barely knows the Kents, as far as I know. On the other hand, Kara knows how much the Kents mean to Clark. That's something Cassie Cain can use against Supergirl.

Plus Kara is going to start a normal life of some sort isn't she? If so, it will more than likely involve the Kents, and thus there will be a buildup to Batgirl threatening to take it all away from her.

Continuity problems with the change aside, I don't mind the concept of an evil Cass if she is an actual threat to the heroes.

Than she better not be called Batgirl ever again if she stays as a villain. Is bad enough that there are already two people raping the Super Family Name, I don't want it to extend to the Bat Clan. Hell Jason Todd is doing a "good" enough job as it is by tarnishing the Bat Clan name, and he doesn't even use a name that directly relates to Batman or one his many partners.

Eh, I don't want Kara living with the Kents or anything like that. Superman has already dumped 2 of his sidekicks with his parents (the 1st Post Crisis Supergirl and Conner Kent). I don't want that rehashed again.

And besides, we don't Ma and Pa to be exposed/having to bear witness to Slu...ahem, Supergirl returning from one of her 'I-am-inherently-Bad' orgies. :D

Too bad they didn't do much with them there. They should have had a Superboy in Smallville series with Conner. It was a great opportunity to tie in with the show, but they didn't take advantage of it and then killed him. :(

When DC had Conner move in with the Kents, it was during the final issue of the Superboy series, #100. At least Conner was a major focal point in the Teen Titans series. I think Geoff Johns did a great job in revamping Superboy. I really didn't like him until Geoff got a hold of him.

On a side note, I would love to see a comic where Superman tries to dump another one of his sidekicks on the Kents to raise, only to have Ma and Pa go "Oh hell no! We aren't raisning another one of your f<aa>ucked up kids! Do it yourself!" I mean enough already.

Eh by the time this comes out Titans East will be done. What? You think I dare put faith in this book? And suddenly just when I thought Joe Kelly's lowest moment was the Cyborg Superman being the pilot of a freakin ship called the Bunny.. this happens.

Oh well.. least Cassandra will expose the great weakness.. NOBODY CARES YOU FOR KARA! There I said it unless someone said it five mins ago probably did. :p And honestily what is the point of having Cassie Cain? Just to add to the list of characters whupped on by her? Geez you think DC was trying to make her the anti-Squirrel Girl, the one where you don't care about who she beat you just want her beat to a puny pulp.

First off, with Joe Kelly at the helm, Supergirl will at least ship on time. Can't say the same for Teen Titans (unfortunately)

Second, I think the story sounds pretty good.

Third, you're just bitter Supergirl has her own book while Cassie Cain's book was cancelled, which was followed by a poorly written turn to the dark side. :p

I wouldn't be suprised if Manchester Black and/or The Elite show up in Supergirl. He couldn't help but throw them into the "This is your Life, Superman" storyline back in February.

And what is the point of this meeting I ask? What?! Drink can I act like a madman again? Or can we hire chap22 as our lawyer? I'm sure if we add on we'll try and tact on some Nightwing thing like put Marv and Dan or Fab on for life he do this for free.

Oh wait you're not a madman now? :p There doesn't have to be a point to Black's appearance in a Joe kelyl book. They're just there to be there.

As for Cassie Cain showing up, read the book and find out! :p

What point? It's common knowledge that writing a Superman book for a prolong time rots your brain. See late 90s-to last year for prime examples. :p

Well it's not like Kelly was given the reins to a Cassie Cain series. if anything her appearance will be a couple of issues long. After that, Geoff will get his hands on her.

Please dear lord in heaven Geoff make her well written.. PLEASE GEOFF!!!!! You didn't steer me wrong with the Cyborg Superman. You brought him back. This is merely you repeating this glorious feat by having Joe Kelly write Cass at her absolute worse then you miraclously find the good to write about her. It's the Cyborg Superman redux.. just without the four year wait.
