Spoilers....................Don't look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking at the variant cover of JLA 1, it looks like Roy Harper is dressed in a Red Arrow outfit which is reminiscent of Kingdom Come. I prefer Red Arrow to a codename with Arse in it, but that's me. I don't think most of the original teen sidekicks graduated into anything special.
Would you like to see Dick Grayson get the Kingdom Come treatment and become the Red Robin?
Nightwing was Dick's acknowledgment of Superman's influence. Maybe it's time for Dick to come to terms with Batman and his place in the Bat legacy. I think adopting the Red Robin motif would be a move in that direction, at least outwardly.
And well....it's just an awesome costume. Sure Nightwings looked better lately but he was a lousy dresser for a few decades. So Yay or Nay? Nightwing or Red Robin?

He should stay Nightwing. If anything, Tim Drake should become Red Robin, as I see him more in line wiith batman's philosophy, recently anyway.

I realize this isn't true in Kingdom Come. But to me the Red Robin costume looks more like the natural progression of.........Jason Todd. If he were to turn good again, maybe.

The Red Robin costume is cheesy and bad, it looks like a Doctor Midnite parody, stay as Nightwing.

Nightwing's current costume is fantastic. Red Robin does look like Dr. Midnight. Dick has got to stay Nightwing.

I think he should go ahead and take over Bruce's identity. That way they can do a tagline like "If you think you know Batman, then you don't know Dick."

Nightwing, certainly. IMO, Dick's "coming to terms with Batman and his place in the Bat legacy" has been done. TO DEATH. what makes Dick unique is that he IS influenced by both Batman, in becoming all that a normal human can become through hard work and dedication, AND by Superman, in actually remaining truly human and upbeat while doing so. Dick's problems come when writers lean too much toward one or the other of those two influences, and generally that lean is ALWAYS toward the dark vigilante side, and end up with the "i'll never be as good as my daddy, woe is me" issues that have been RESOLVED before, yet brought crashing back to the surface by hack writers who have nothing else to say.
and...Red Robin as an identity does nothing but move Dick backward yet again. let the man STAY his own man for God's sake...

Forgetting the costumes and just talking names, I always figured Nightwing sounds like a motorcycle or something. I know it has roots in some kryptonian character (no need to repeat another Grayson history lesson Chap, heh), but here on earth, criminals must be thinking, "He's a what? What's a nightwing? Some kinda bird?"
Not saying Red Robin would work either though, so I guess he's stuck with it.

I was thinking of a "coming full circle" kinda thing.
I dunno, ive never really been motivated to buy Nightwing books so I don't how many times he's been around that particular bend.
It's just an idea. Thank you for not frothing, Mr Number One Nightwing fan ;)

sometimes I think that maybe chap feels somewhat strongly of Nightwing, but I stand by the statment that Grayson was the best thing to happen to Nightwing.

Red Robin? Now why do I think of that as a sidekick of the current Robin (Tim Drake), who also btw recently has a costume change....going red (BTAS style).
As for Red Robin, its as lame as Red Arrow, which is a couple of notches down from ARSE-nal. Oh, and lets not forget Speedy!! :D

I'll take either one or even kick Grayson upstairs to the Batman job. The Red Robin costume is certainly the better look though.
Of course, I still think of Nightwing as Superman's secret identity in the bottled city of Kandor.

Yeah, having criminals wonder, "What's a Nightwing?" is probably a lot better than having criminals say, "Red Robin... tee hee!"

I'd like him to get a costume reminiscent of the Earth 2 Robin costume myself...

Red Robin was one of the extremely few things I didn't LOVE about KC. It was ok at best. Optimistically speaking, Red Robin could work but I prefer Nightwing and I always will.

Robin + Red Hood = Red Robin? Why not. He can't just be "Jason Todd" for the rest of his hopefully short (again) life.

I agree.
I can see Tim as Red Robin when he was an adult. Plus Nightwings outfit is just too sweet.

god no, Nightwing stays nightwing, Tim is the next batman
otherwise, Dick becomes Batman, and Tim graduates to NIghtwing and we get a new robin,
actually damn I would like to read an elsewhere story of them all graduating up 1 lvl

I prefer the Nightwing costume, but Dick should pay homage to Bats not Supes. So in concept I like Red Robin more, grown up, but still aknowledging Bats and Dick's beginings. So I vote Red Robin, but redesign the costume, especialy since it does look so much like Dr. Midnight.

Moreover that 'Robin' on Red Robin's chest, it looks more like a Hawk...so, is that a homage to the Blackhawks or Hawkman?
(Or maybe DC's hinting towards a future 'roll-in-the-hay' with one of the 90,000+ Hawkgirls!!) :D

Dick can't come up with any ideas of his own. His first and only idea was to dress in green-scaled underwear and a bright yellow cape. He probably took a lot of crap over it, so since then he's been ripping ideas off of everyone from Superman to Deadman's super-popped collar to Midnite and the Hawks (how did I never notice that?). The only thing that saves him is that anyone who wanted to sue him would have to use their real name.
