There has to eb something going on here. My bet is that the Kingdom Come Earth/Hyper-whatever got merged into New Earth and thus these characters are now part of the mainstream DC. Though i cant help but feel something more sinister is going on. Mainly due to hints in Teen Titans.
So far we have
Zattara
Miss Martian
Judo Master
Maxine Hunkel
Offspring
Talia and Batmans Son
Starman
Plus there seems to be other characters looking more and more like their KC counterparts.
Arsenal has always being moving towards the Red Arrow thing.I wouldnt discount a change of name once he hits the JLA.
The KC Blue Beetle was powered by the scarab.
Also Northwind looks a hell of a lot like the KC Hawkamn although that happened prior to New Earth.
There has allso being hints about Norman Mckays return. He would ahve made a great Spectre.

Not to mention the Starman that's going to be running around in JSoA. Doesn't he look like his KC counterpart?
Looking at the new Blue Beetle, I am reminded of Alex Ross' designs for a proposed Kingdom ongoing series that was going to spin out of Kingdom Come. His BB wwas armored as well.

KC Beetle wasn't powered by the Scarab was he? He wore some stupid armour.
I hope this isn't true.

I hope this isn't true.Yeah, I liked Kingdom Come enough in the day, but I'd be against things in the normal books moving too far in that direction. No thanks.

I've often joked that DC's editorial direction for the past 6 or 7 years has been to make Kingdom Come plausible again.
I'm worried that I spoke too loudly around the wrong people.

They keep denying that they're moving in that direction, but it really looks like it.

They keep denying that they're moving in that direction, but it really looks like it.Before OYL there was Atom Smasher, Jakeem Thunder, Northwind and Alan Scott's aromor has showed up a few times.
DC isn't moving towards a Kingdom Come style future at all. In fact, most of the OYL books are the exact opposite of the world at the beginning of KC. The book just had some really cool character designs that they're adapting to the mainstream DCU.

I like it. I dont mind them adapting the costumes or the characters, just not the story.

Cyborg also briefly had the golden morphing appearance he had in KC and the Metal Men became Alloy a few times after Alloy made it's appearance in KC. Captain Atom had his KC appearance in his recent mini.
I'm not surprised. I think they are moving towards Kingdom Come because it was a natural progression of the characters, what DC is aiming for now.

Seconded. Let the KC story remain where it is and where it should be...in the ELSEWORLDS
Don't f'in canonize it...and drop that Talia and her runt into a bottomless pit.

I think DC is just moving to the future, Things are changing drasticly. And Some characters probably will begin to look like their KC counterparts. However given that KC was an Elseworlds tale......I don't think that the whole DCU will go that way.
It has been posted in the Nightwing or Red Robin thread that we may see more of the KC universe but it may not be completely true to KC.
Quite a few individuals(myself included) see the Red Robin as a natural progression of Jason Todd when he returns to the light side of the force. Some others have said that they see Tim moving in this direction. So who knows.

I think when Wally West does return his powers will have evolved into something like what he looks like in KC. Evolved super-speed where he can exist in between dimensions (which is why he could see Norman in KC). He, Linda and the twins are probably curently existing in a different dimension and he'll use his evolved powers, learned from years of training in the speed force, to return him and his family home. Also in KC he has twin children, a girl, Iris and a boy, Barry. Both have speed powers and I think the last appearance of the twins in Infinite Crisis shows that they probably inherited their father's powers as well.
