Who should the 11th member be? (Justice League spoilers)

Okay, so the lineup with 10 members has been revealed (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=81265), but we know there will be one more member added in the second arc of Brad Meltzer's run. Who would you pick? It's just one person. Can't be that hard, right? ;) :)

I'm going with Mister Miracle aka Scott Free.

I may be totally wrong here so don't quote me but I think the deal was just that A member would join who had never been on the team, not necessarily the 11th member. If that's the case, that's Roy unless I'm mistaken. Which I may very well be.

Aquaman is probably out of the running. The safe bet is Flash.

That's probably one reason but for me, she seems like someone who's screweed up a lot but still smiles.

Most likely it will be the Flash (Bart) but I'm hoping for a lot of different characters instead.

Don't forget that the team's going to have somebody on there that wasn't on the original Benes spread. As all 10 of the known heroes made it on there, that means number 11 wasn't in that original image. That rules out Cyborg, Zatanna, Mr. Miracle (sadly) and Kyle Rayner. It also opens the door for the new Flash, the new Atom, the new Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Manhunter, a lot of characters already on other teams (I'd kill for Cliff Steele on the League), a ton of Z-level characters and a few of the 52 guys upon completion of that series (Steel, Starfire, Isis, Supernova).

I thinking it'll probably be Bart Allen as the Flash, although I'd love for it to be Supernova--if Supernova turns out to be Booster Gold. Then, the Giffen-era League would have a representative on the new team as well.

Because she actually works as a magic character. Most magic based characters, as fun as they may be in principal, don't really work. They show up, wave a trinket, speak in tongues or whatever and then shoot out some neat looking but completely nondescript light. It's not actually doing anything! Seriously, it's not much different than having Cyclops shoot lasers out of his eyes or something except at least you know what's happening there. As much as I love Doctor Fate and Doctor Strange, what the hell are they doing? There's a lot of color and hoohah flying around the page but what the hell is it? It's not like, just to contrast, the Punisher who shoots a bunch of bullets and we know immediately what the cause and effects are. Hence very few people actually knowing how to write magic characters and/or do anything with them.

That's where Zatanna is different. She has a fun little gimmick that causes the reader to think a little bit. It makes you feel like you are deciphering a spell or that you are in on a secret. Plus, you get to see the immediate cause and effect of what she is trying to accomplish. If she says "!pu lleh eht tuhS" or whatever, you see the immediate result of her actions. When you start adding in the fact that yes, she's hot, has an interesting personality, intelligence, humor, cool costume, knows the capes and tights crowd, can hang with John Constantine, is one of the most powerful beings on the entire planet, well yeah...there's a lot of reasons to dig her. It just takes the right writers to get her right and between Brad, Will and Grant that is exactly what the fans have had the benefit of reading in the last couple years. She is SO due her time in the big league.

The cover had me thinking of No-Man (Noman?) from T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents. Multiple bodies...send one in, it gets caught/dies/subjugated, well then, send the conciousness to another body waiting to be activated.


Oh...and I'd like to see more of Elongated Man, that is...if he survives/sanity secure enough, by the end of 52.

The same can be said for Green Lantern, or Superman and Flash to a certain extent.

Just because she's powerful doesn't mean she's not a viable character.

nah, not really. she's also limited by being required to vocalize her spells (last i checked anyway). a good gag knocks her right out of the fight.

No, the 11th character will be written during Meltzer's run. Bart will probally join up for when someone else takes over the book.

I'm hoping that when someone takes over from Meltzer, they'll replace Vixen, Hawkgirl, Hal Jordan, Black Lightning, and Arsenal/Red Arrow with more powerful characters like Zatanna, Firestorm, the Flash, the Martian Manhunter, Ion, the Atom, Hawkman, Plastic Man, and Green Arrow.

Just imagine how freaking powerful the League would be with those members!

Eh... we've got a Black and a Black, a Red and a Red, two animal women, and one Green. (Lightning, Canary, Tornado, Arrow, Lantern, Vixen and Hawkgirl)

Obviously, we need another green so that he can have four pairs and three aces. The lack of a second green will cause a universal imbalance that will lead to the next crisis. I'm joking, of course, but it would make it so much easier to split up the team:

"Black and Red, go north. Green and feral, go south." Batman's job just got a lot easier... or at least, he saves a lot of time not using people's full names. That caped crusader... always thinking head. Smaller word balloons, more room to scowl.
