Press Release

Comic fans can see their favorite Marvel characters in action when Activision, Inc. showcases the highly anticipated Marvel™: Ultimate Alliance, Spider-Man 3™: The Game and Spider-Man™: Battle for New York games in the Activision/Marvel booth #4315 at the International Comic-Con Convention in San Diego from July 19 through July 23.

Show-goers will be among the first to see live demos of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance as Activision reveals three new playable characters. Additionally, Comic-Con marks the last opportunity for aspiring Super Heroes™ to audition for the chance to be the in-game voices of Jean Grey and Namor – The King of Atlantis, in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Fans can also attend Activision’s Marvel: Ultimate Alliance panel where legendary comics creator Stan Lee, Marvel writer C.B. Cebulski, actors Gabrielle Carteris (voice of Elektra) and Phil Lamarr (voice of Uatu), and others will discuss bringing the characters from all over the Marvel universe together for the first time in a video game. The panel will take place on Saturday, July 23 from 10:30am – 11:30am in room 6B.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is Raven Software’s all-new award-winning action/RPG that allows players to create their Marvel dream team from the largest roster of Super Heroes ever in an epic quest that will determine the fate of Earth and the Marvel universe. With a total of over 140 popular Marvel characters and a playable cast of more than 20 Super Heroes, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Blade and Captain America, gamers will embark on a dangerous journey across exotic terrain and well-known comic book locations like Atlantis, the Shield Heli-Carrier and the Skrull home world in an attempt to defy Dr. Doom and the world’s most notorious Super Villains.

Spider-Man: Battle for New York allows gamers to take on the role of their favorite Super Hero, Spider-Man, and one of his famed nemeses, Green Goblin, in an original storyline which builds upon their legendary comic book rivalry. For the first time in a handheld Spider-Man game, players can personalize their gaming experiences by choosing what abilities and powers to upgrade and when, as they progress through the game. Playing as both good and evil, gamers will experience levels packed with frenzied action, in-depth combat and a host of unique super moves as they embark on the ultimate quest to save New York City from almost certain disaster.

I never heard of Spider-Man: Battle for New York. It says handheld. Is this a game for a system or a stand alone game?

It's only for DS I believe.

I so looking forward to Ultimate Alliance. Might be the best comic based game right behind Justice League: Heroes (sorry raven, but snowblind owns this genre).

Not so sure about Spider-Man: 3 though.

Part 2 and the following Ultimate Spider-Man were medicore at best.

That Spider-Man: Battle for New York sounds great. How I hate it when Nintendo gets exklusive titles.

Battle for New York is gonna be for DS and for GBA, but the GBA edition is gonna be developed by those responsible for the Fantastic Four game on GBA, which is not good news.

I rather played as venom over the GG in any game.
