I am REALLY liking Paul Pelletier's art. He's probably the most under-rated artist in comics.

I tell ya....

I'm REALLY excited about Exiles, MTU has been one of my favorite new reads... and I'll give Silver Surfer a chance.

Nice to see Exiles get quality artwork like that. I'll definitely stick around.

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought when I saw that he had a flashback.

But on a different note. That Silver Surfer art. Wow.....I just...wow. SOOOOOOOOO glad I picked that one up. I honestly thought this guy wasn't a SS artist when I first heard he was slated to do this. I don't think I've ever been so wrong. If you haven't yet, pick this book up. I'd love for everyone to pick up the whole event, but they'll likely be busy wasting their money on Marvel's shock value and continuity-handicapped 'core books'. Sorry, but in terms of Marvel's true spirit, this is much more where its at.

I love the way both Exiles and Silver Surfer look.

MTU ... .... ... I love the way both Exiles and Silver Surfer look.

SILVER SURFER and MARVEL TEAM-UP look fantastic. I was giddy with every page of SURFER no. 1, and this new MTU arc just looks like a lot of fun.

Definently looking forward to more Silver Surfer.

So an Exile Dies?

Well we know Blink, Sabertooth and Morph all make it into Claremont's Exiles along with Psylocke.

That means Power Princess, Longshot, or Spidey dies.

No way will it be Longshot because other 616 writers may want to use him eventually.

Spider-Man 2099? No. I don't think so. He's got a pretty strong cult following.

My guess is by default Zarda dies. Maybe even Heather Hudson.

Mimic had a similar flashback issue a few years ago (when he killed Namor) and he didn't die.

I hope Morph doesn't die, he's one of my favorite characters.

But then, so was Mimic.

Man, I am SOOOOO PISSED that Clarmont is taking over. Bedard really turned this title around after Austin's craptacular run.

I fear Exiles is heading towards rough waters in terms of writing.

Surfer and Team Up look great too.

By the looks of it I had thought Morph was toast. I personally would've preferred Sabretooth bite the big one. Glad to have confirmation, though, that my boy Morph soldiers on! :D

Paul Pelletier has long been the most uderrated artist in comics. My dream is that Marvel will put him and Tony Bedard on a core X-Men book, and let them run wild.

P.S. I, too, am getting the feeling that Morph will buy the farm.

I loved Cory Walker's work on Invincible, his Spider-Man Unlimited story was a classic, and the last issue of Marvel Team Up with Wolverine and Cable in 1991 was just plain amazing. But jesus.. he needs to work on his Captain America... :(

Favorite mutant comic on the stands. Hands down. Loving the HELL out of Bedard and Pelletier's run! World tour has been a longtime marvel fans' dream. Great stuff. You KNOW that these guys were raised on the very same books we know and love from the 80's.

That's not Walker art on the MTU preview, it's the work of Andy Kuhn. The solit is wrong. Andy's work is not my cup of tea either.

Exiles looks good, I think Sabretooth bites it,

Marvel Team Up: COME ONE SPEEDBALL!! FIND THE RING!!!

In case you dont see it coming, this is going to be very Lord of the Ringy.

I'm loving Annihilation thus far. An excellent event. I was actually surprised by how much I liked that Exiles preview. I've never read it, and it really stuck with me, so I might try to start picking some up. Any suggestions as to which arcs are essential?

I like MTU. But I think it's rediculous that Cap is losing his focus. Unless...it's the ring that made the M.O.D.O.K. force appear and impel Cap to fight them.

I'm pretty much digging the annihilation stuff -- I agree w/whoever said it's the "true spirit" of marvel: good call (I like the bendis / millar stuff, but y'right, it's not exactly marvel-classic (btw T-Bolts IS, though, and rocking; Young Avengers, too, ironically enough)), but maybe it's just me but both books so far have looked cramped and confusing; different artists but the same cramped, hard to follow something in the art. Maybe it's the coloring? I don't know. And I read tons, so it's not like I'm comic-illiterate. Anyway, I'm onboard for at least the 1st ish of each; likely be back for SS#2.

And also btw, I've gotta admit I was surprised, yes surprised that "Annihilation" was due to Annihilus. Somehow just didn't expect something that old-school to lead a major event thingy. And that IS cool.

Exiles I will miss when Claremont takes over and I have to dtop it! :(

MTU I haven't really enjoyed! I only bought the first 2 trades for the Kolins artwork. The 2nd tpb had that awful Paco artwork (issues #11-13) and it looks like Kolins isn't coming back anytime soon. Is he permanently off the book? Guess I'll be getting the 3rd tpb just to read the Legion of Losers, then I'm dropping this title. Because focusing on Captain America, more of the cosmic ring AND that artwork is enough to make me lose it!

Still undecided on Silver Surfer! I know I''ll be picking up the Ronan/Super Skrull tpbs for sure. And definately NOT the Nova (gag worse hero ever almost!) But, I just can't make up my mind on Surfey! The first preview did nada for me. Wish there were some words with this one. Who is that critter on pages 5-6?

Omnibus, variant covers, director's cuts, sketch books... you can count on Joey Q to flood the shelves with them all.

(Unless those sales-boosting tricks are only reserved for his buddies Millar and Bendis.)

Those Annihilation books look awesome.

I´m not a fan of those cosmic characters but I doubt that I can resist much longer. Those books are just plain beautiful.

Ya know why I like “Exiles”? It has this absolutely gorgeous Pelletier art that I’ve loved since his “Hulk” days. I mean, I picked up DC’s “Outsiders” years ago and, God help me, “Superboy and the Ravers” >shudder< JUST cause he did the art. It deals with the alternate history/multiple world concepts that was done so cool in “What If” and the movie “The Butterfly Effect”. It also has mutants that aren’t freakin’ depressed about being mutants, who don’t just sit around moaning about who loves who, who died when, who lost what powers, and how they’ve been discriminated all their lives. They actually do super heroic things for the sake of doing them cause they’re the right things to do.

So Renato Arlem has moved on from being a bad knockoff of Joe Mad via Roger Cruz to swiping Alan Davis' style? In particular, the Galactus shots look very reminiscent of Galactus drawings from Excalibur, and the head/hand shot at the bottom left of this (http://www.newsarama.com/marvelnew/May_previews/ann_ss_2_6.jpg) page look like something from the around issues 43-50 of Excalibur.

It's a nice change, though. Hopefully he'll be able to parlay it into a distinct style like Bryan Hitch eventually did.

OH thank god. I was afraid Cory Walker had gone blind between issue 19 and issue 20. MTU would do a lot better with a consistent artist though...

Whoops. I take that back. I just looked around for some of his older stuff and saw what you were talking about. In his defense, though, he was working in "Deodato Studios" for a time, which had a style that was generally ameri-manga (or whatever you want to call it). I'm still not sure if his current style looks anything like Davis', though. Whatever. I may be biased based soley on how much I like his art in this book so far.

GREAT reasons, but let's also not forget about the Califore art! He's been around since the beginning and I personally think of him as THE Exiles artist. Besides from that, things actually happen! Characters change, die, get pregnant, fall in love, leave the team, get depowered, etc. We've had, what, 7 folks leave the team since it started? Not counting Weapon X, of course. And a character got pregnant, lost her baby, someone else got depowered, a character came back (not from death, though), a character (stupidly and OOC) betrayed the team... WOW! That's a lot for such a short run...

I'm gonna guess Miggy dies, not only because he was pulled from an early point in his continuity, thereby diverting his known 2099 history.

Zarda was pulled from a point after her last appearance, so she's still "in continuity", unlike Miggy or Heather.

btw, is Tony's run extended until CC takes over or will there be fill-ins until then?

Annihilation - I'll wait for the trades for Nova and Super-Skrull. rest I could care less. "StarBlast", anyone?

Annihilation has been awesome! I can't wait till next month when Marvel has Civil War and Annihilation in full swing, should be a great month of May.
