You're in luck. The second trade, which will have issues 6-10, will be outin 2006. Apparently, Smart just wanted to do something else and needs the time.

More Bear in the future isn't out of the question, but he isn't making any promises I've heard of.

-I can't believe I let you use internet bidding, everything you bought is either dangerous or useless.
-How about this swan penknife its useless and dangerous. I win.

-That's it no more internet for you
-But there's so much porn I still don't have.

I shall dearly miss the anarchy based humour it added to my pile once every few months.

Thanks for the info. At least I can finish the series too.
Still a little sad Bear will be on hiatus. Jamie Smart is really one hell of a talented guy! :)

'Bear' is one hell of a great comic. I bought the first six or so issues and will have to get the second trade when it's released. Glad to hear that Jamie Smart will be doing other stuff.

Wow! Gutted. I didn't know this. I haven't picked up my comics from last week yet.

I love BEAR, it fills the gaps left by JTHM and SQUEE and other weird, left of field stuff like that.

Any idea what Jamie Smart is doing next? Any hints at all?

Exactly - any other reccomendations for very odd dark humour comics Bear fans?

I was quite enjoying the less anarchic but still dark turns in Serenity Rose - despite its occasional sentimentality that just hit a bum note with me - before it became one of the indies that never comes out.

Serenity Rose has switched to publishing an annual trade, though I have no idea when #2 is expected.
