The Secret Six from Villains United should not become a new Suicide Squad comic!!!!:mad: :mad: :mad:
Aside from Deadshot, they have nothing to do with the Suicide Squad! If you want a title with those characters then call them the Secret Freaking Six and leave the good name of the Suicide Squad out of it!!!!!:mad: :mad: :mad:

Maybe I am missing the point (I haven't had the chance to read Ostrander's Suicide Squad yet), but why does Deadshot have to be in the Suicide Squad? The thing that sounds coolest about Suicide Squad is the concept of captured criminals serving out their time on the team. I could think of quite a few other supervillains that would be a lot more interesting to see on the team than Deadshot (yes, I am looking at you Captain Cold).

Captain Cold did have a nice mission of Ostrander's Suicide Squad!:)

Anyway I agree, they are two very different things. Though the better question should be...
Should Deadshot leave the six and join the new Suicide Squad next year...or somehow pull a Wolverine and be on both teams.
And I agree, Deadshot will forever be linked to the Suicide Squad after all Ostrander did with him in that book. Captain Boomerang to for that matter. When the new Squad debuts, I'm'a goina be missing ol' Digger. Won't be any more pie's flying around :(

Deadshot should shoot Catman in the face, announce to the world that the Secret Six sucks and so did that Villains United comic, and then go join the new Suicide Squad.
Coming off that very solid mini-series DC put out a few months back, I was hoping for so much more for Deadshot in VU. But he turned out to just another supporting character in the Catman love fest.
And by the way, Catman is lame.

But I would have no problem with two separate books. The thing that would separate them is the fact that the Suicide Squad (aka Task Force X) is government sponsored, whereas the Secret Six has some shadowy, private backing.

As for the "who said?" comment - too many people have been saying that the Secret Six team should be the focus of a new Suicide Squad comic. Go check the Dream Suicide Squad thread for examples.
I see no need to put the Suicide Squad name on the Six. There is no need to merge the concepts. The Six seemed to do fine on their own, so give them a shot in their own title. Don't just slap an established comic name on a random group of individuals.

I don't read every DC title and have only been following IC loosely, but has anyone else been "recruited" a la Atom Smasher at the end of that JSA arc which landed him in jail? If I had to guess I'd say it's a pretty good indication that DC plans to keep the Six and Suicide Squad as seperate concepts, though I wouldn't be surprised if they included Deadshot in a new Squad for good measure.

Well there will definitely be a Secret Six mini.
And wasn't there talk of the Suicide Squad. Like them having something to do with "52" or something?
Anyway I don't think that DC would merge the concepts. They are really different teams and the Six can't become the Squad as we've seen Atom-Smasher get recruited so we know the Squad is out there somewhere already.
Now if the Six mini flops or something I can maybe see the remaining members getting folded into the Squad, but that's not turning the Six into the Squad, that's folding the Six concept and putting all your remaining cards in one hand.

I totally expect the Secret Six to fall apart in their mini and go their own ways... or be blown up into different pieces...
Deadshot WILL return to Suicide Squad, mark my words. Its like having a JLA without Batman. Everyone says that it can work, and people say that they don't need him there... but every writer wants batman in the JLA. Same goes for Captain America in the Avengers.
Catman will probably go with him. Just my thoughts her folks, but it looks like DCs tryingto turn them into the new badass duo.
Deadshot WILL get an invite by Waller. Catman will probably ask to join up as he has NO IDEA what to do with his life...
I'm just hoping that Count Vertigo (one of my faves) will rejoin... and Deadshot & Catman can beat him senseless for not helping them when they were being tortured...

i voted yes but if you think about it the characters that are left on the team make for a good starting point they all have to watch out for each other at least till luthor and his group are dealt with so why not draft in some other guys that rejected luthor and are hiding out
they only catch to suicide squad is that people have to die i really stoped when i saw parademon die i liked him it hurt and when deadshot went down i just knew dc killed my favorite character
when you say the words suicide squad deadshot and bronze tiger should be the next ones the made the team
