I finally caught up with the GI Joe book and I'm glad I stuck with the Joe's. Really well done series written by Casey, the only thing I have a problem with is Shipwreck's new longhaired look, he looks like a homeless man.
And the last issue's cover is one of the best

I do love that new 'old-school' cover. Also, I like Shipwreck's look. He looks like a pirate. Arrrr!
The series has surprised me with how much I liked it. The writing is good, and the art is very clean. The initial previews and solicits had me worried, but I have been very pleasantly surprised by this series.

yeah, youre right, the initial previews made it seem it wouldnt be very good but casey sure does have a handle on the characters. i have yet to read the snake eyes origin. im waiting for the entire mini to be out before i read it. sort of like waiting for the trade

Not to mention the pages from #0 they showed in the previews made scarlet look like a man. Ick... I was sure I would hate it and drop it after a couple issues. Nope. It's really really good.
I was going to get the Snake Eyes mini, but decided to pass. I may pick up a trade or hunt down back issues someday... Emiliano's art is pretty awesome.

So what do you think of #5 and #6 being double-sized issues? I was a little miffed at first that my month fix of GI Joe was gonna run $4.50, but the series has been really good, and it's better than shipping two issues in one month at $2.99 each.. so I am kinda pumped for it.
Also, does anyone know how well this series is selling? As compared to Reloaded and the previous GI Joe series? I am worried that this will get cancelled, too.

guitargod694 you should check out the Snake Eyes mini, it's freakin awesome...I would have to say that this is Brandons best work so far...I'm pretty happy to get more Joe even spendin a little more don't bother me...More Joe the better I think...

I hopped onto this series right at the end of the previous run. Cobra's plan came to a climax, but at the last moment a new threat, the Red Shadows, emerged.
Then there was the wait.
And the series re-starts, but, wait, what?
Vance Wingfield or something? General Rey suddenly disspeared? No sign of the Red Shadows?
Meanwhile, Flint is clenching his asscheeks acting like a n00bie "Grrrr we have to attack them now, hard and fast!" and Shipwreck has given up showering. Is this some attempt to make the book seem edgier and darker? Ug.
but at least it has plenty o ninja.
It's a good book, but it's not the book it was six months ago, that's the book I was hoping for. Oh, whatever.

okay.
Thumbed through the datatracks today.
Didn't pick it up, not worth the price of a full issue, sorry.
Turns out though, the shadows aren't totally being ignored like they're ignoring the Transformer crossovers, good stuff.
I actually prefer it this way, not so black and white with One Threat Replacing The Other And That's That.
