Well again Iron Ghost makes my pick of the week with issue #4 of 6

great miniseries so far and my shop only had a single copy for moi; I don't get it why comic shops don't have more of this in the shelves, it's like Invincible or Battle Hymn, they barely order enough copies for reserves, not giving a single chance for a new comer to sample an extra copy

is this an anti Image Comics move to carry shelves loads of Marvel & DC stuff but only order the minimum smallest possible order for smaller companies; are Marvel & DC paying off to weed out of shops smaller independent publishers

Ha! Wish I had an answer for you, Mister...it sure seems that way though, doesn't it? Hate to say it, but I plucked my LCS' ONLY copy of Iron Ghost #4 off the shelves yesterday...and that was only because, for once, I got there when the store opened. Usually I have to order it from Midtown Comics, sigh. However, hate to say this, too, but I am waiting till the whole mini is done to read the story!

Still, even though the idea is fanciful, again: it really DOES seem like a conspiracy sometimes, doesn't it?

If stores put 10 copies at least of issues like Iron Ghost #4 or other series I mentioned they would still sell out in a few days if not on the first day, but they won't do that

I tell them it's a real good interesting series, my pick of the week even, but they still won't put those titles in shelves, it's strictly for reserves and reserves only in many stores and at best on opening shipping day with luck one or two copies

I don't know what Image could do here, maybe sell only in sets of 5 or 10 but then Diamond will brake those sets anyway

I see Marvel toying around with Invincible creator trying to get him on there side with a crossover or the guy from Liberty Meadows, deconcentrating them from there work, when's the last time a Liberty Meadows issue came out

is it Marvel & DC hitting at Image
or Diamond
or shops
or all combined

like don't put too much Image Comics or you'll have problems if the rest of your orders

Can Image fight back against this mafia business style

I'm pretty sure there is no "conspiricy" going on here. It's simple ecconomics.

LCS A orders X number of book Y of a particular Image title in the past. LCS A getting BURNED, no copies of book Y sells.

LCS A orders X number of book Z from Image. Book Z sells next to nothing LCS A is burned again.

LCS A Says "Hmm apparently no one who comes to my shop buy Image, so I'm only going to cover preorders and maybe one copy of what ever book.

LCS A notices Marvel and DC books fly off shelves no matter what they contain. "Oh oh I can make a lot more money off buying alot of Marvel and DC books."

LCS A makes alot more money.

It's sad, but your average casual comic reader doesn't like looking outside the box in terms of titles.

Frankly, Store owners and opperators should take some innsitive. They know the big names will sell, they should actively push non big two titles to their regulars, only then will they move MORE stock and make MORE money. But they can't if they just keep selling what sells NOW.

Oh, you're 100% right, Adven, but let's face it: at the same LCS I mentioned above, I can't even convince the store owner to order Jack Staff for me and me alone. And you and I BOTH know how awful a predicament that is, LOL!

He won't order a book for you that you're going to buy?
