www.dcbservice.com is the cheapest place i have found to pre-order it. MOC was $65 + shipping (since i do my regular order with them the shipping on it would have only been 75 cents more than normal, but your mileage will vary). At dcbs i got it for:
1 @ $50.00 = $50.00
SUB TOTAL: $50.00
TAX: $0.00
SHIPPING: $7.95
GRAND TOTAL:& nbsp; $57.95
The shipping kind of hurt, but in the end it was still $7.80 cheaper.
Has anyone found anything cheaper?

How do they make money off stuff like that? Surely the cost on those are more than $50. Thats insane...Its so tempting.

I don't know that DCBS will be making much off of this, if this is the only thing you order, but they are probably hoping people who do their regular orders through them will pick it up with a bunch of other stuff to help their profits? maybe? hell i dunno, but its a damn good deal. :)

Wow, that's nuts! I usually buy my books at a discount from one of my LCS, but I doubt they can beat that price.

As did I, which is why i already snatched it, but i can keep this thread up there for those who are interested, and just in case someone comes across a cheaper version.
Over on Kirkmans board i read some kind of rumor that you could pick it up from Amazon UK for something like $10, but no one could tell if it was true or not. If it is Amazon made a huge mistake.

Even if you pay for delivery from the UK back to the US, Amazon.co.uk still has it cheapest: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1582405360 at £6.99, that's roughly $12-$14.
Of course, it has to be a mistake but it would be great if they honoured the price (but they don't have to - they will cancel your order if they won't).

It would be about $25 shipped to the US to order it through them, i've thought very seriously of doing it just to see what happens, since i already have a copy ordered, i could put that one on ebay or something.

Wish me luck. I just ordered it through Amazon.UK. With shipping it came to just shy of $22. Too good to be true, I'm sure it will be cancelled, I'll keep you posted.
Thanks
Update....
Hey check this out http://www.best-book-price.co.uk/compare-book-price-code-1582405360.html I Googled the ISBN number and come up with this website for multiple cheap locations in the UK? I can't figure it out.

*edit* nevermind, just clicked on the site, sure enough!
I ordered it through DCBS. I haven't seen it cheaper anywhere else
Sorry.

The links posted by folks above to amazon.uk and the book-pricing site both now show Noble Causes v. 4. Apparently there was a mistake in the descriptions linked to that ISBN. Ah well---things that are too good to be true usually aren't.

Hmmmm, that's weird. That wasn't there before. I looked at my order at Amazon UK and it states I've ordered The Walking Dead. The item description is still for The Walking Dead. I've e-mailed the seller. I agree it's too good to be true, but that's a serious SNAFU.

Theres an off hand chance you might get it at that price because of their mess up. But i didn't take chances, i know i have my copy coming.

I found It HERE (http://www.alibris.com/search/detail.cfm?chunk=25&mtype=&qwork=9131606&qcond=6&S=R&bid=8631408175&pbest=8%2E95&pqtynew=5&pbestnew=11%2E71&page=1&matches=5&qsort=p) for $13.10 which also seems like a mix-up with Noble Causes.

how strange. If you plug the ISBN number into Google, you come up with responses for both Noble Causes and Walking Dead.

Well my experiment failed. I received "Noble Causes: Blood & Water" in the mail today in lieu of "The Walking Dead." I mean, knew it was too good to be true. There are some mix ups with the ISBN number and I notified the vendor.
It was worth a shot! Honestly, I'm going to skip the hardcover (I have the trades and have spent a pretty penny trying to get the single issues).
Take care

I was going to try to track down the single issues (i only need 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6), but i decided to get the hardcover instead. Although i would still like to have a #1. Its the fanboy in me. :)

Issue 1 was pretty easy to find on Ebay for about $30. The 2nd issue is the hard one to find (I'm assuming a low issue count). Issue 3 is easy to find but with the white cover, it's hard to find in a high NM.

Any news from fellow Americans who ordered from the UK? I'm thinking about doing this.

Yeah that was me. I was sent a "Noble Causes" TPB. I think there was a problem with the ISBN number. Too good to be true. My receipt even listed "The Walking Dead Omnibus." Oh well.

call/send a letter to Amazon explaining the situation, and maybe they will ship you the book w/ the quoted price.
After all, if that's the price they quoted, and your invoice says Walking Dead Omnibus, they should give you the book for the price they quoted to you on their website.
(they probably won't, but I figured it might be worth a try)
has anyone heard any updates on whether if this will be shipping on time or not?

I've not heard officially, but issue 24 came out in the last 2 weeks, so the potential is there for it to ship on time. Kirkman and Image were working their asses off to make sure this got out by Christmas.
Amazon.com has it for $63.00, with free shipping.
type this in the search field in Amazon:

Thats probably the best deal out right now. DCBS no longer has it up for 50% off.
Amazon.co.uk have it for £45.50 if anyone from the UK is interested in buying it:
