I'm not seeing any love for this series. And I have to give a shout out for it. They just started an adaption of Tower of the Elephant, one of the best of REH stories and a new miniseries about King conan called "Conan and the Demons of Khitai" Where Conan goes to the Far East. I'll be picking that up this weekend. I just love this series and I really enjoyed issue 19 where Conan is piised about being used in Zamora. This book is everything you want out of a Conan story, Wenches, swordplay, magic and excessive brutal violence.

Connan's been the best book on my pull consistantly for almost two years. When you get accustomed to that kind of quality month in and month out, I think you tend to stop being as vocal because you just expect it to be fantastic, so the glorious becomes the mundane to you. But it is a great series. Its also the only book I buy where I buy the singles AND the trades. Not even the cheaper paperbacks, but the hardcovers.

As for the new mini, the writer always seems to get negative reviews so I may hold off.

It's amazing how consistently great Conan has been! 20 issues and not a low point yet.

I can't say enough about this book BUT I"LL TRY!

fun, fast paced, and violent..Conan isn't in danger of slowing down.

I love it. really enjoying Tower of the Elephant so far.

Fans of the Fantasy or Medievel/Sword and Sorcery genre might really like this...

I recently lent #1 to a friend after he read #0 and he's getting the trades.

Its easily one of Dark Horses best titles, if not the best. Ranks VERY high on my comic reading list.

Kurt Busiek and crew (hoping he searches his name and comes here hehe) has done a fantastic job with this series.

I always recommend this title when people are lookng for something new to read.

It's just a solid- consistently good book every month (just like most of Busiek's work ;) )

Busiek & Nord have made Conan a must read for me. The only Conan I ever owned before this came out was an older issue that Neal Adams did the cover for...#37 I believe. I picked up the #0 issue from Dark Horse and I've been hooked ever since...highest possible recommendation!

I had never even given Conan a sideways glance before I picked up #0.

Since then I have ever issue to date. The first TPB, and I'll have the second when it comes out (This is the only book I buy singles and trades) I got the Chronicles, I started buying those Robert E. Howard Library books that Del Rey have been putting out. I bought the movies. I've even started keeping an eye out for the old de Camp novels and have snatched up every one I have found.

I am such a huge Conan fan now it is almost embarrassing.

Hell earlier today I met my father for the first time ever. Saw a bunch of books in his house and commented, "I see you like books." And he started showing them to me and telling me he's a big western fan and what was my response? "I read mostly fantasy stuff. Like Conan, I'm really into Conan. Also Doc Savage, Tarzan..." and so on. But one Conan was right at the top of my list.

Busiek and Nord have done a bang up job with Conan. It is kinda under the radar, possibly due to the fact it is it's own 'universe' and really does not cross over to any other books. I would however like to see a Conan/Red Sonja reunion.

What do you folks think of the typeset font used for the book? At first it put me off, but now it kinda gives me the feeling that REH is narrating these tales from his old rickety typewriter.

How is a book that was the only "independent" in the top 20 or 30 for the longest time, under the radar? Any book goes down in sales, thats a given. Conan held its own for a very long time, would love to see it back in the top 30 again.

Book is awesome. I understand why Joe Q said his only regret was not to have gotten Conan back to Marvel !
It's been in my top ten list since the #0 issue !

Looks like Tales of Wonder still has it - http://tinyurl.com/akqzk I don't _think_Amazon ever did as IIRC it was limited to comic shops.
