Because we need more Seven Soldier discussion threads... todays topic...
Mister Miracle... what was up with that?! Possible the MOST trippy of the books so far... I feel at a loss with a lot of this one because its a character with a bit more of a rep and a history so not being a DC nut by nature I am a bit at sea...
I mean it was still good... but in the way you know that the White Album is good...

Thanks for the SPOILER WARNING Marchie
EmeraldGuy, Shiloh has been around since the original Miracle series in the 70s. He's not a new character.
In the MM ongoing by Giffen and DeMatteis (and then others) during the JLI era, Shiloh ended up taking over the performance end from Scott Free. That was the last time I saw him, but apparently he was working in a DCU prison as a consultant or some ____.
I can't verify anything beyond the "that was the last time I saw him" part :)

Mister Miracle was a great read, the art was so cool and the story was so bizarre, I can't wait to see where the next issue is going to go.
I can't wait for Zatanna
Shilo played a big role in the "last Laugh" Joker crossover a few years ago.

I'm pretty happy about Morrison's use of the New Gods. I think the idea of avatars fighting it out on Earth and the idea that it takes a leap of faith to see what is happening are excellent ideas to convey the idea of these being "gods" and not "superpowered extradimensional beings."

oh yeah... and darkseid...
now im no DC nut but i always thought it was "dark seed" and not "dark side"
now... this guys bad news right? little info please? is he the DC Thanos?
Evil Twin

It's more like Thanos is the Marvel Darkseid since Jim Starlin created him afterwards and acknowledged the influence.
As far as I know, Kirby pronounced it "Dark Side" although there certainly was debate in the fan community.
I'm familiar with the Fourth World titles, but I just have to ask, "What's there to really know to enjoy Mister Miracle?" The reader is cast in the same position as Shilo, given an idea that these characters are out there and that there's a bunch of good guys and bad guys, headed by "Dark Side". And we'll find out more as Shilo does.

But what is with FRANKENSTEIN???(Solomon Grundy were better!)
Marvel has Frankenstein, other have Doc Frankenstein and
now DC own his Frankenstein.

What debate? It's the same vowel sound in Ben Stein. Dark "Side".

The depiction of Granny Goodness and the Female Furies as characters straight out of some pimp hip-hop video was rather bizarre!
Just like with all of these titles, I am intrigued, and will wait and see what happens next. I'm totally along for the ride, tho.

aftergetting halfway through this "series" of series and knowing that Grant is involved in the Infinite Crisis is some way (remeber he is part of the 52 pltting team and DC's editorial braintrust right now along with Johns,Rucka,Waid and Winnick(and Giffen)
So this leads me to believe that along with what is going on in this "series" that clues are being dropped here and there as to the nature of the DCU and the relationship these heroes have in in with relation to the others.... 7 Soldiers coincidentally Ends right as the one year gap starts as well.
leading right into 52.....
Morison is doing an amazing job with the whole meta-fiction asspect... dovetailing 8 minis into 1

I think that Pariah was talking about Gloriana Tenebrae or Neh-Buh-Loh when he told Luthor he wasn't the biggest predator in Villains United #5.
Would anyone else read a Zatanna ongoing? I would.
Drawn by Adam Hughes...

I would. In fact, I am going to write an open letter to DC arguing that she should get her own title. When its done I am going to have it posted on PBR.

Good enough to last thirty-five years despite being an incomplete series (the whole Forth World opus). Only Walt Simonsen has ever done anything really interesting with the New Gods: he actually moved the myth-story forward. Alas, it got canned. And of course GM is now forging ahead with 4th World too...

All the New Gods related comics, with the exception of Mr Miracle, which went on for a while, could fill one DC Showcase book -- and maybe they should!

Ya think so? Even including JIMMY OLSEN and HUNGER DOGS? That'd be seriously cool...
There were 12 or so NG, same for Forever people. Another dozen Jimmy's. Hmm. Guess in a pinch there would have to be TWO books. Fine by me!

I've never checked, but do they push back all the release dates when one is behind? That is, do they hold to the same overall schedule?

According to the "Folks" thread, that isn't necessary. You can post anything, anywhere.

According to dccomics.com, Klarion comes out 10-19-05, but Zatanna comes out 11-02-05. Looks like just the one issue getting shifted so far...
For those who haven't been following, Zatanna DID come before Klarion.
I don't care myself. It kinda gives me a chance to re-read all the 7Soldiers books, again!
