To me? THE SUPER-HERO, accept no substitutes. My all-time favorite, there are no bad Spidey stories. His character transcends everything. He's an icon, world famous, and someone everyone relates to. Every other comic only wishes they could be Spidey! Even Superman! :p
Go go Spidey Webs! :D

Spidey is better than Superman because he's a believable person that's been thrust into a situation he doesn't necessarily want. Add to that all the emotional weight of his Uncle Ben's murder, etc. etc. etc.
Superman's just some alien with way too many powers.
Captain America's better than all of them though!

Everyone has a favourite, without a doubt. Spidey is the qiuntissential everyman to me. Yeah, everyone relates to him! He's been in a million spots he doesn't want to be in. JMS writes him perfectly, especially in ASM #524, when Pete reasons that life is perfect in the midst of his worrying health concerns. As did Bendis in House of M, his reaction to Leyla Millar's powers. The immense trauma of his entire lifes' tragedies and struggles in one mind blowing moment for him! Another was when Aunt May, in ASM #400 gave him a way of looking at his lifestyle he never even considered. In all his career as Spider-Man, has he ever realised his powers gave him the gift of near flight inhis webswinging? The moment in the first movie when we hear him shout with glee was just perfect to me to describe this!
