There were alot of people asking for seperate CBR-esque boards for comics..

Yes, but polls like that pop up all the time.. so even though people voted no, they still pop up.. thus showing some demand. I'm sure if no one posts in these forums, they'll disappear.. but I'm sure that won't be the case. Seeing as how we're posting right now.. :p

i'm sure the hope is that more intelligent discussion will result from people paying more attention to what they like, instead of posting in threads about creators/books/companies they don't.

What fantasy internet land are you from? It won't matter how the layout is people will always hate online.

Isnt the internet all about people bitching or to post blogs about their cats?

Now the trolls can target specific boards and focus their hate.

eventually, though, you'd like to think that people who literally take the time to enter a place where they know they only want to stir up trouble would be banned -- that's how you stop some of the problems.

I spend a lot of time online and been on many different kinds of message boards and newsgroups, it won't make a difference if there is 1 topic or 200.

Bottom line is the moderators have to be very diligent about it.

well, we'll see...there is no answer until it is tried, and if it doesn't work, no loss. if it does, we have a better forum.

the easiest thing to do is to keep things the same, but it's never a bad idea to try to make something better.

I think this is a great idea, theres so many garbage threads that i couldnt care less about, and when i come on looking to talk about comics, sometimes i have to go through 3 pages of crap first, this makes it easier for everyone to find what they are looking for and nobody loses out at all. I dont see the problem.

Not really, no. I still want to talk about comics, this is a comics board, just now its more of a pain in the ass to go and talk about comics.

I quit buying them a few weeks back. Some were good (the #0 was great), but I lost interest because I didn't see where it was going and wanted to free up money for other comics.

And then I read my copy of Guardian #4 (I hated #1-3), and realized there actually was a point--to the story and to having their stories all broken up into little series.

Oh well, maybe I'll start picking them up again some time.

I read Marvel and DC, but I like this. This setup makes it easier to find a specific thread about a particular book or series.

A better alternative would be to have ALL the threads go to Talk@, but require a switch to say whether it was Marvel, DC, or other... then copy the threads to their respective areas. I doubt thats possible though.

Either way, I kinda like it.
