One of the hottest collectible crazes just got a little hotter! Beginning this fall, Gacha Capsule Toys will feature Marvel Comics characters, including movie stars Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men and Daredevil. Some of the most recognizable faces in pop culture will now be available in Gacha Capsule Vending Machines.

“We are very excited to include the Marvel characters as part of our toy program,” commented Jackey Tomioka, President of TOMY Yujin Corporation. TOMY Yujin Sales Manager for Midwest and Eastern Region Ken Barnum continued. “The Marvel characters are cultural icons, known throughout the world. We are honored to be able to offer them to Gacha collectors.”

Dark Horse is excited to offer these and other Gacha Capsule Toys to the North American comics market. Gacha capsule toys are small collectibles packaged in plastic capsules dispensed at random by a special vending machine. Since many of the toys are part of a series, consumers in Japan actively feed the machines in hopes of obtaining complete sets of their favorite collectibles.

TOMY Yujin Vice President of Sales and Licensing Yusuke Tokashiki commented, “Not only will adding the Marvel characters to our line enhance its value to collectors, but it will also provide retailers a great opportunity to increase sales.”

TOMY Yujin, an affiliate of TOMY, one of Japan’s largest toy companies, developed the Gacha toy-vending program. For over ten years they have been selling miniature licensed toys to the Japanese vending trade. These toys have provided great play value to children while creating a whole new collectible market for adults. Combining a long history as a toy manufacturer with knowledge of collectibles and vending, TOMY Yujin has earned the respect and support of both consumers and retailers.

In addition to the new Marvel license, the limited edition collections found inside the machines will feature some of today’s most popular licenses like The Simpsons, Disney, Pokémon, Nintendo, Lord of the Rings, and more.
