The solicitation for the debut issue reads:

“Some say the classic story goes "boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl". SHOTGUN WEDDING, is more along the lines of boy meets girl, boy and girl hate each other, boy and girl are forced into marriage as part of a truce between their warring mob families. Boy and girl must put aside their differences long enough to bulldog their families into giving them a divorce, by any means necessary. That involves foiling heists, initiation ceremonies, gangland slayings and after hours rendezvous with purveyors of the skin trade, all the while staying one step ahead of the most vicious criminal mastermind since Charles Nelson Reilly. Think Romeo & Juliet turned upside down, with lots of bullets and lots of laughs, delivered in all four glorious colors by Marc Bryant and Jason King. SHOTGUN WEDDING, not the classic story, yet, but it is pure class.”

The issue is due in stores on October 15th.

Sounds like my favorite kind of romance novel! I'm in!

I'd say a little more than the language isn't work safe...the disclaimer could've been more visible. If I lose my job I'm coming after you, Matt Brady.

What you doing browsing this site if your at work? I never quite understood why Matt needs to put a work safe warning, I mean unless you are doing research for comics or related then I can see coming to this site. Anyone using work computer for leisure deserves to get their ass fired regardless if its "work safe" or not. :p

Thanks for the great response everyone! This book's been a long time coming together for me and Jason's art really brings the whole thing to life in an exciting way. Please be sure to drop us a line with your thoughts when you get a chance to read #1.

My other Speakeasy title, the Gatesville Company is still available as well. #1 is available at most local comics stores and #2 will be on the racks soon. You can read more about both these titles at www.marcbryant.com

thanks again!
Marc

Looks awesome! I pre-ordered way back in July, because the concept sounds very cool. I'm very glad the art is just as great.

Though, I thought this was coming out in September, not October  It was in the September Solicitations...weird, but, whatever.

This book looks terrible. What a waste of good paper! I wouldn't take this book if you gave it to me for free.

Fair enough. Mind sharing what kind of comics DO look good to you?

The art style is very interesting, reminds me a little bit of cell-shading though I can't quite put my finger on it.

also, yes, maybe a bit more warning about content...such as NSFW!
