CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH?
The Secret Origin Of Captain America... Revealed Next Week!

When one story gets magazines like Entertainment Weekly, USA Today and Spin -- as well as newspapers such as The New York Daily News, The Boston Globe and The Philadelphia Daily News -- talking, you know it's big. And when the story they're talking about is a comic book... well, that's just cool for the entire industry.

Now, TRUTH: RED, WHITE & BLACK -- the most buzzed-about mini-series since ORIGIN -- is finally headed to a comics shop near you. Yes, you've read interviews with writer Robert Morales, artist Kyle Baker and editor Axel Alonso... but are you ready for what they will reveal? Make no mistake, the six-issue series may shock you, but as Comic Shop News said, "TRUTH's socio-politics may be controversial, but the story is nevertheless thought-provoking."

And just to show you that the creative process is humming along, here's four interior pages from the second issue, now available for order until November28th.

Brace yourself... the TRUTH is coming on November 20th!

I just finished reading the first issue of THE TRUTH, and all I can say is...

Wow.

This looks like it's going to be one damn powerful story by the time it's finished.

Ahead of the curve (for once),

The Truth #1 offers very little unless you like sub par art and spending $3.50 for what barely passes as the set up for a (so far) uninteresting story. It's a pitty that Marvel banks the sales of this book on a little controversial spin in the media. Judging by the numbers reported by ICV2, retailers didn't fall for the false hype.
:p
The best thing that could happen is that Marvel loses Cap to Joe Simon and we won't have to put up with any more revisionist history.

Looking at Diamond's shipping list, Truth #1 comes out this Wednesday (November 20). The person who said they've read it already must have gotten one of the advance copies comic shop owners generally get a week before the comic ships.

Shouldn't that be "from our man at Marvel"?

From today's New York Daily News:

"The Truth" has a surprising supporter in [Joe] Simon, who is in the midst of a lawsuit against Marvel over the copyright to Captain America.

"In my day, the industry almost totally ignored people of color," says co-creator Simon. "I think it's about time that somebody did it."
