In the discussion following Mike Sangiacomo’s most recent Journey Into Comics <a href="http://www.newsarama.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=000022" target="_blank"> column</a>, Daredevil writer Brian Bendis weighed in, praising the series’ regular artist, Alex Maleev, and posted a link to a sneak to the artist’s cover for issue #46, which features the return of Typhoid Mary.

<center><a href="http://www.newsarama.com/Marvel/Typhoid_Mary.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.newsarama.com/Marvel/Typhoid_Mary_t.jpg" width="300" height="459" border="0"></a></center>

Bendis did admit to Newsarama that the final image that makes it to the cover will probably be edited – slightly.

Yesss!! Typhoid's the one character I've been waiting to see since the reboot began. Booyah!

Bendis/Maleev rocks. I can't believe my own retailer says he doesn't like the art on DD. Madness, I tell ya! Madness!

Wow, THIS is good.
She no longer looks silly by trying to make her look like a cross between a whore and a supervillian. Now she is a punk rock whore, and everyone knows that is what Marvel has been needing for years...

Not bad, but . . . how does she fight without falling out?

Yes yes, I know, you could ask the same of the White Queen's new costume, among others. But Typhoid's breast is hanging out as it is . . . even if she did fall out, fighting like that would probably hurt! Someone get this girl a sports bra!

I am so looking forward to this issue. Bendis and Maleev kick serious bootay on this book. This Typhoid should put all other rendentions of her to shame.

And the image? Hubba hubba (gonna have to hide this one from my wife - she already gives me grief over the Elektra covers)

Can someone fill me in on Typhoid Mary? I know she was introduced between Frank Miller's Born Again and Kevin's Smith's run, but other than that, I don't know who this character is and why she is important to Daredevil. Was she a second rate Elektra?

Typhoid Mary was a seriously schizoid character introduced during Ann Nocenti's run as writer. She worked for Kingpin intermittently, and probably was created to sub for Elektra, whose usage was embargoed in those days (and arguably still should be: she's dead).

For fans of Typhoid Mary who want to see some of the original stories, I just ran across this upcoming trade of Marvel's.
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0785110410/qid=1043843857/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/002-5753037-8039212?v=glance&s=books" target="_blank">Upcoming DD trade</a>

Since, I never purchased the original D.D. stories at the time, I'm looking forward to this one. (Despite enjoying Ann Nocenti's Spider-Man stories, I still never purchased her D.D. stories, weird that!)
