<img src="http://www.newsarama.com/Image/darknessppcover1.jpg" width="175" height="294" align="right" border="0">Dynamic Forces has provided Newsarama with a lettered preview of its upcoming Darkness Prelude.

According to Dynamic Forces, the Prelude issue, co-produced and published with Top Cow, “begins the process of reintroducing mobster Jackie Estacado to the world of graphic literature. But this time, thanks to the writing of Paul Jenkins and the talented penciling of Jae Lee, Estacado glows with renewed vigor and energy in this limited edition story that needed to be told.

Paul Jenkins states, "The Darkness is about atmosphere: there is a character in every shadow, and this is what I have tried to portray in this script. I need say nothing more about Jae and Jose than that they drew every single character I asked for".

"This is a great chance to work with Paul on a totally different type of character. I feel like I'm creating some of my best work between this and the Captain America story I'm working on right now, so I am really happy to be doing this," said Jae Lee.

Future Dynamic Forces/Top Cow comics will be produced by: Mark Millar, Bill Sienkiewicz, John Cassaday, Peter Milligan, Geoff Johns and Mark Texeira.

I remember that this was announced a while ago. I fine it a little wierd that they are putting out a "prelude" issue, even though #1 hit the stands months ago.

I will admit that it looks great!

It's too bad, with the amazing artists involved (Jae Lee, Dale Keown) that the writing is so poor. I read Darkness #1 and came away thinking that if this had come out when I was a teenager, more into art than good writing, I'd be all over it. Now, though, excellent art is not enough to make up for really bad writing.

Wow, what can I say... Jae Lee continues to grow with every page. Despite all the complaints of the early "Image" era, a number of fine artists grew from those beginnings. A quick scan of this board shows that Travis Charest, Jae Lee, and others continue to develop, pushing themselves to new heights in graphic storytelling.

I'm going to look for this one.

I'm hoping this is a regular format comic at a normal price point as opposed to the overpriced fancy limited editions Dynamic Forces are known for.

Does not look like it, after looking at the link to more preview images, I saw the price of 5$ plus this lovely list
-Unsigned Version
-Signed Version
-Remarked Version
-CGC 9.8 GRADED EDITION
-COVER B
-DFE GOLD FOIL COVER

these type of deals were almost the death of comics, why does TopCow still support a company like DF?

I'm just waiting for Diamond to solicit it in the regular Dynamic Forces section in Previews so I can order it from them.

And 5 dollars for an exclusive books isn't bad at all. It's S&H that are the real murderers. Another reason to wait for the Diamond solicit. Eventually, it gets there.
