New to the Hulk, Fernandez’s most recent high-profile work was on the “Crystal Ball” arc of Oni’s Queen and Country. This the first time he has teamed with regular Hulk writer Bruce Jones.
Marvel’s solicitation for the issue reads:
"Hide in Plain Sight" Pt. 1 (of 5)
In time for the blockbuster HULK movie, this special 25-cent, jump-on issue begins a brand new five-part story arc, featuring the return of Crusher Creel, the Absorbing Man and art by upcoming superstar Leandro Fernandez. 32 PGS. WITH ADS/FC/MARVEL PG-$0.25
Incredible Hulk editor Axel Alonso told Newsarama that Fernandez' five issue run will ship over the course of three months (June - August), and that regular Hulk penciller, Mike Deodato Jr. will be back with issue #60, which, according to Alonso, is already fully drawn.

This is cool, although is it me or does the Hulk look just a bit like the Grinch?
Still cool though, I'm there.

Me Like!
I know he's been kind of a lame character in the past, but I always thought the absorbing man was a really cool concept. I can't wait to see how Jones handles him.

That cover's sure to fly off the shelves. Will Kaare be back with Deodato?
Leandro's stuff looks great. Kinda reminds me of Eduardo Risso too.

Ooh, pretty pictures! :) I'm digging Deodato on HULK, but I can't wait for this stuff from Fernandez, either.

That Absorbing Man picture is awesome. Since Bruce Jones has taken over, the Hulk has had a great string of artists.

This is how you do fill-ins on any title. Make it a special occasion, put a truly talented artist on the book and show off the art. I've never heard of Leandro Fernandez before, but WOW, these pages (and the cover! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> ) are fantastic! Thank you, Marvel! :D

Like I said before. Bruce Jones is a spoiled man. He gets to collaborate with ALL the talented artist. John Romita Jr., Lee Weeks, Stuart Immonen, Scott Kolins, Mike Deodato Jr. And now he's teaming with one of the sleeping giants of the comic biz, Leandro Fernandez. The man's art in Queen & Country was absolutely awesome and he's doing JUST THE RIGHT character in Hulk for Marvel.
Great job hiring this guy, Marvel.

Love the art, love Jones' run so far, Love the Absorbing Man. I'm there.
Can't remember, but isn't Fernandez the artist all those readers of Queen and Country didn't like because he drew Tara Chase well endowed in the upper body? For shame, gentlemen. For shame!!

Yeah...a man's art shouldn't be judged entirely for drawing a character in his own style.
I think his art is very action packed and conveys the story really well. It's a little exaggeraged for Q & C, especially the nose of the director (forgot his name), but I think he did a really commendable job on Crystal Ball.
Hulk, IMO, is a GREAT fit for him.
This looks cool to me....

Great art, but is Kaare still going to be doing covers?

What's the previous work of Leandro? Where did he come from? Anybody knows something about his curriculum?
