Brian Pulido Proves He Can Still "Hack" It!

In 2003, fans of slasher flicks were ecstatic as Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees locked glove and machete in the long-awaited Freddy vs. Jason. Then, Leatherface made his return in the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Well, fans can rejoice again as Avatar Press gears up to release comic adaptations of all three properties. Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will all be hitting the world of comics harder than the victims of this unholy trinity hit the ground! The three books, all written by horror comic legend Brian Pulido, will feature new stories bases on the established characters and situations. All three books will ship in time to be in stores on Friday, May 13th.

Picking up soon after the events of the film, both Freddy and Jason have returned to their "places of power" to reap what was sown in the event of their crossover.

In Springwood, parents pass martial law to make Freddy's story fall into forgotten legend. Without fear, Freddy is powerless. But, a rebellious young journalist is determined to reveal the creepy little town's secret!

Meanwhile, Jason has returned to terrorize those who enter Crystal Lake, but he doesn't know that Laura Upland - armed with a paramilitary group - is out to rid her newly inherited land of it curse once and for all!

Finally, the infamous massacre in Texas crosses paths with escaped cons and their lady-friends! The group happens to come upon the Hewitt family General Store. But thoughts of robbery disappear when they see they've entered a world of terror and agony!

Pulido says heıs the right person to appeal to gorehounds looking to see the continuing adventures of their favorite killers. "What qualifies me?" he asks. "Iıve murdered about 6 billion people in my stories so far. One of my characters, Evil Ernie, triggered WWIII after a decade of mass murder. Personally, Iım honored and excited to be doing this project. I love the early movies of each series, and I really dig the 1980sı horror antiheroes."

Look for Nightmare on Elm Street Special #1, Friday the 13th Special #1, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre Special #1 from Avatar Press in the Comics section of Previews!

 I'm all over these like uh, maggots on a corpse ;)

I hope they are good enough (and sell well enough) to at least justify a mini-series for each title.

Especially looking forward to the Nightmare on Elm Street book, although I won't be buying all the variant covers...

It will be interesting to see if they can pull any money out of these properties. I know Nightmare has failed miserably to work as a comic property several times, and I have doubts about the ability of Leatherface.

Freddy's one-shot could be good though.

Wow. Mr T. Gets FOUR PAGES of posts, and this gets 2 replies.

Well...Three counting this one.

Maybe I WILL have to buy all the covers to show my support!
