Spaghetti Western
By Scott Morse
Oni Press
Now this is more like it. Scott Morse has released two major projects so far this year and they've both been with DC properties. While he does a great job with those properties, his own creations always have more...magic. Spaghetti Western is no exception, as Morse brings us his best work since the incomparable Barefoot Serpent. Presented in "widescreen format," Spaghetti Western will astound any reader with its amazing full-page visuals. Morse tells a story better than just about anyone in comics and he conveys emotions just as well. Morse's character designs also reinforce the attitudes of the characters, nicely. And besides that, his art just plain looks incredibly cool. That's Enough about Morse's art. His art is incredible. That's given. I'm beginning to think that an incredible and touching story is also a given with Morse, because we get yet another one from the creator with this book. Morse's dialogue charms you into the story as always, and then he delivers an emotionally charged and funny story. Great stuff. Best Original Graphic Novel of 2004 so far, and I don't expect that to change.
RATING: 10/10
