I noticed form some preview stuff on oeming's site that some of the proto-type character listings had the OHOTMU Power Grid, I am curious, did the Power Grid stay in the final layout?

Actually - that's my site you're looking at :) And I wrote the book as well as helped to design it, so those early mock-ups did include the power grid but they were nixed in favor of more content and pictures. Bendis and Oeming wanted something similiar to but slightly different than the Marvel Handbooks.
