No, actually.

I wished I could vote for two stories but since I cant I'm going with OMD. Although Wolverine Evolution is damn near just as bad. I swear is Joe Q just trying to ruin Marvel's two biggest characters on purpose.

OMD started off good, and might even end good. Evolution, on the other hand, was complete trash throughout. It sickens me that Bianchi was wasted on that arc. At the very least they could have let Guggenheim right it so that this last year and a half or so would flow nicely. The order should have gone Vendetta, then the Christmas special, then Logan Dies, then Evolution, then that Jason Aaron one-shot as the first issue of his run.

Don't think there'll be anything worse than Ultimates 3 in 2008. 'Cos there won't.

where's the "all of the above" option?

you also forgot the Captain America B-listers marathon that ran through 07 as well.

Clearly, it can only be:

X-Men: Die by the Sword.

Worst. Story. Ever.

OMD got my vote - even despite the outcome the story is just woeful.

Wolverine: Evolution a close second...

One More Day isn't even close to being as bad as Wolverine Evolution was and Wolverine Origins is.

it's been a pretty bad year for Wolverine. Origins was horrible, his main series has been mostly bad, and Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk is mostly just a joke now.

at least Joss Whedon still gets him :)

Probably because it's by far the book of the year for the forum... (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=140851)

Civil War, no question.
I'd have put CW as an '06 title since (iirc) only the final issue came out in 07...

heh. didn't part 1 come out in late 05 (i remember having it to read at the Father-in-laws at either Chrsitmas or thanksgiving that year) and part 2 a couple months later in 06...

and what percent of those have been with the title since the beginning? (or in its previous series?)

Wolverine: Evolution gets my vote since I've been following the character for many years, and this is by far the worst story involving Logan.

If I was a Spider-Man reader, I would have voted OMD.

A lot of the choices could easily be winners as well.

well, i have been (at least since the beginning of the current vol and end of the last) I can totally understand you not liking it, but calling something that co-won an Eisner for best writing (Bru won for Cap/DD/Criminal) as well as being generally a critical AND sales success the "worst of the year" just seems pushing it is all.

but i hate The Ultimates so who am i to talk :p

Wolverine Evolution was bad in conception, execution, dialogue, framework and composition. I would have preferred bianchi's art without dialogue

I put Wolverine because both Origins and Evolution were terrible. Hell just put anything written by Loeb as an option, since Ultimates 3 sucked as well. To me this stuff has been worse than OMD and Spidey.

Evolution
Origins

I think the thing about OMD was there was no chance from the concept that it was going to be great. So it's hardly a letdown if it's rubbish... On that basis, it's worse if something had a great concept and failed utterly. So on that basis, DbtS and....

The Last Iron Fist Story.

I was soooooo pissed off when I got to the 'end' (it didn't actually end, of course) and it was just a set up for ANOTHER six part epic. That was depressing. I thought it was going somewhere.

oh it was a great book, up until the death, and the death part isn't the part the made the book boring, it was focusing on background characters I couldn't give two ____s about. Winter Soldier? Really how many times has that been done before... put down the DC comics Bru and come up with something original for once that doesn't rely on a death, or a resurrection, or the rise of the kid sidekick to main event status.

No... you want to make it original focus on the Skull. This book should have been all about the Skull since Steve's death. The Anti-Cap. This is his plan... his conquest. Leave the background characters in the background. Although after half a year of meandering along it looks as though we might be finally getting this so who knows... maybe this will be the title of 2008.

As a Wolverine fan...I've never been so insulted after reading a comic quite like Wolverine #55. Not only is 'Evolution' one of the worst stories I've ever read in comics period, but 'Logan Dies' has to be in the top 5 of Wolvy stories I've ever read. Guggenheim is as bad a fit for Wolverine as Jeph Loeb. Simply terrible...when Daniel Way shows more competence in handling Wolverine, you just know things ain't going well for the ol' canucklehead these days.

If I was a diehard Spidey fan like I am for Wolverine, then OMD may top the list...but my choice goes for Wolverine: Evolution...it's simply the very worst comic book in 2007 and possibly in like the entire UNIVERSE!!!!

Civil War was awesome! I couldn't get enough. I hate however that they're now all apparently Skrulls. It reminded of V, the TV series. Not too mention that Civil War was an EXCELLENT analogy for what happened to America after 9/11.

One More Day! Thank GOD I didn't pick up this load shite! Just the idea puts me off! Glad I missed out on the Wolverine comics.
Ultimates 3 got my vote. Talk about your time warps. That had Image written all over it.

As much as I hate the direction and insanity that is OMD, it at least makes some kind of story sense. Unlike Wolverine: Evolution, just bad.

From what I've read, World War Hulk. The story of this book can be described like this:

POW! SOCK! PUNCH! CRASH! BOOM! PUNY HUMANS! POW! CRASH! SMASH! SMASH! SMASH! PUNCH! KICK! GROIN-KICK!

UMM...I THINK THE WORD YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IS "SUPPORTING CAST." BUCKY, FALCON, AND SHARON CARTER HAVE ALL HAD RATHER PROMINENT ROLES IN THE BOOK SINCE BRU TOOK OVER. THEY ARE CERTAINLY NOT "BACKGROUND" CHARACTERS

That's kinda what I found refreshing about it. Of course I'm an unhealthy level Hulk fan. It was just mostly fighting with no blown out of proportion morality driven story to get in the way of the beatdown. I thought it was great.

In that case, Ultimates 3 shouldn't be on the list either, since only the first issue has been out (though it may have felt like a year's worth of suckiness in that one issue). :D
