Brad Meltzer's Tornado's Path - my choice.
Lightning Saga crossover with John's JSA
McDuffie's Injustice League arc.

Brad Meltzer's Tornado's Path - liked it for the characterization & spoltight on RT.

Lightning Saga crossover with John's JSA - Alot of action & interaction with Wally returning as The Flash. Plus interesting Legion roles.

McDuffie's Injustice League arc - Great character moments with some quick action scenes.

Thus far, I'll have to go with the Lightning Saga. as it's to me the least imperfect arc of the series at the moment.

Tornado's Path. Sure it had some flaws and maybe too many "heartwarming" moments but still much better than the recent Injustice League drivel.

lightning saga, only because Johns got to write the JLA. He clearly elevated a so-so book during the crossover

I wasn't a Legion fan or reader so Lightning Saga's value just went right over my head. Random team up + return of a character who wasn't gone long enough to give a sh...

Tornado's path. Hands down. It had its share of critics because, well lets face it it's not what people think about when they hear JLA but it reads muuuuuch better as a whole and was a great little epic. I think that Metzer had the potential for an iconic run if he didn't have to go into Lightning Saga and had stayed for another 2 years. The interest for the book has gone to hell since he left (largely due to that JLU rip-off mess of an arc).

I really enjoyed the Tornado's Path story-line. It started a bit slow, but when read as a single work I think it's quite good.

the ONLY good thing about Lightning Saga was Wally, and that wasn't enough to save the rest of that turd.

Tornado's Path i admit i really enjoyed, but it was at least 2 issues too long. the "Batcave Heroclix" made its point in the first issue...the next 2 issues' worth was drastic beating of a dead horse. also, WAY too much first-name-calling and those damned multi-colored narrative caption boxes finally wore thin on me.

Injustice League i really enjoyed b/c of several things: Firestorm's involvement, a hearty helping of action after so much tedium from Meltzer after the Tornado's Path, finally some actual use of Black Lightning and Black Canary actually leading rather than just being called the chairwoman. and McD tried to answer most of the fans' questions in the final part about why certain seeming plot-holes weren't really plot-holes.

it's between TP and IL, but i guess i'll take IL.

Injustice League followed by Lightning Saga. Tornado's Path was good, but way too drawn out.

but how do these arcs stand up compared to, say, Morrison's relaunch, Waid's brief run, even Kelly's run (which wasn't that great, but the Obsidian Age arc was enjoyable)?

I'll give Injustice League a B, Lightning Saga a B- (with the JSA propping up that score considerably) and Tornado's Path a D.

The first dozen issue launches by Fox/ Sekowsky, Morrison/ Porter and Giffen/ DeMattis/ Maguire smack these arcs to the ground, take their lunch money and leave them for dead.

Haven't read the later JLA stuff yet...but Morrison's was ok....far from as good as Tornado's Path, but ok. Still nothing to explain why everyone loves Morrison as much....he did write a nice Bat-God in those books though.

Meltzer is great for the latter and it's easy to understand why some prefer his "Tornado's Path" to anything Morrison wrote.

Tornado's Path by a country mile. McDuffie's arc is really sad by comparison.

It's not just that I like Meltzer more.
I just don't like Morrison. I know it is too much for some to handle, but the guys who don't like Morrison exist and, gosh, they're not idiots. The just like different stories and most of all different pace.

Although, of course, stuff like the heroic posing, the fanboy moments with no substance, we got plenty of that in Morrison's JLA, plus craploads of pseudo-science. I just like how Meltzer takes his time, actually uses the characters as characters and doesn't just throw anyone into random action sequences. I know, I'm a terrible person and should be banned for it, but hey, it's the way it is.

morrison's run came on after the yazz and nuklon were in the JLA. those were awful times. There's no denying he rocked the DC by doing the opposite of what the editors mandated for years - putting the big 7 back together. i have nothing but fond memories of his run. because unlike a lot of today's creators, he was there for more than a cup of coffee.
i agree with the previous poster. nothing in this current relaunch even comes close to what morrison or giffen and dematties or even conway did when they guided the JLA.

I dropped it after the first arc. I liked the lineup (and the Red Arrow upgrade) but found the story to be a bit of a bore.

I was thinking of jumping back on after the JSA crossover, but then they got rid of Hal.

I just read 8 pages of the latest issue online and I don't feel like I am missing anything. Both story and art were pretty bad.

Tornado's Path rocked. Lightning Saga was dull. Unlimited was childlike in it's simplicity.

Kinda off-topic, but wasn't it weird in Lightning Saga when Degaton, Ultra-Humanite and Despero inexplicably teamed up, only to disappear for 6 months and then reappear in Booster Gold. I mean what the f*ck is up with that man?

Tornado's Path and Lightning Saga both started off great and gave us alot of interesting moments and set up and both suffered from very lackluster endings that overall didn't do anything for me. Tornado's Path was a little better since it disapointed me less, but if you really like Wally go with Lightning saga, overall Morrison/Waid's runs put both stories to shame I didn't even bother with Injustice Gang aka JLU in comic form.

I'd say the Red Arrow/Vixen one shot. None of the other arcs were that great. Tornado seemed slow as balls and Injustice League was just kinda pointless.

As much as I'm loving McDuffie's current one, I really enjoyed Tornado's Path. But my opinion on which arc I liked better clash. One point I feel like Tornado's Path was the better, and the other I feel that it's InJustice League arc was better. And I like them both for different reasons...damn it, I dunno!

Oh wait...you mean the most recent Justice League of America series.

Meh.

You mean like how the Monitor showed up as a weapons dealer in random issues, then was a major player in CoIE?

Personally, I didn't like it as it's a story that's been done in the past and possibly better and had as much depth as a story in the JLU comic.
