Just wanna try one. I see there are lots, and I have no idea which is good. I prefer an ongoing but I dont mind a mini.
Something to do with "current" storyline, possibly after Return of the Jedi. I also want cool villains or villain vs. villain/hero vs hero storyline. Something chaotic yet cool. Good art and good writer.
THANKS!

look no farther than Legacy.
it meets all of your criteria (and is the only book set post-ROTJ)
give the first trade a try, i cannot imagine you wouldn't be hooked.
IIRC in January they are re-issuing an expanded version of #0 as #1/2: it wasn't a typical issue with story, but it was sort of between a source book and a prose piece ~ it sets up the basics of the politics and scenarios of the day and introduces the key factions.
It's possibly the best Star Wars comic ever, and the word on the street is they think so at the Ranch too.

I think Legacy is the best one out now.

I would definately read Legacy. Doesn't take much to know Star Wars to get into it and the Trade is out for the first few issues.

Couldn't have said it better myself, LEGACY is by far THE best SW comic ever...

I agree with everyone else that Legacy is what you want, but KOTOR is a great series, too.
The first Legacy TPB covers issues 1-3 and 5-7. Issue 4 was a fill in story with only a tangential relationship to the first arc. Start with that first TPB. It gives you all the background you need to dive right in. If you jump into the ongoing issues without havbing read the first arc, you will probably be a little lost because a lot of characters were introduced in the first arc. It's worth it to get the TPB though. It's an awesome story with some of the best art of Jan Duursema's career.

Legacy is the best with great writing and great art.
Rebellion picks up after ANH if that's the era you are interested in.

I got the first issue of KOTOR, but it jsut didn't grab me. I'll give it another try with Vector.

they didn't includ #4 in the trade? that's too bad, it was a really good one-off with awesome travel Foreman art ~ I'd ahve jsut included it as a 'bonus story' at the end ~ to bad they couldn't hang on to him for fill ins, the other fill-in artist hasn't been nearly up to par with the regular art...

I'd say start with the trade, i think it'd be a bit confusing to jump into the current or next arc without reading the first arc, since it introduces so much of the characters, conflits and politics. after the first trade though, i bet you could jump in on the current (AWESOME!!!) arc, i'd think the recent back issues'd be fairly easy to find. or start on the next arc (theirs 2 issues left of the current arc)

It's Legacy in a landslide.
The first trade's out, right? The second has been solicited and is scheduled for a February release.

I think KOTOR probably reads better in trade (I'm one of those wait for trade guys). The first arc is set up as sort of a mystery, so some of the single issues might seem slow when read alone. I think it has a great cast of characters and a classic Star Wars feel, though.

They've suggested on the Dark Horse boards that #4 will probably be included in a later trade. I think it may be in volume 2, due in February.
