first issue, of either 5 or 6 (i forget, sorry). it's a great war story with some spectacular (and cheesecakey) artwork.
lots of language, gore, and a major emphasis on the main character's boobs and butt. what more could you ask for? ....oh, you want more? well, it's an all around great read! go check it out.
....and no, i don't read comics based on the gore and sexual content. this one just happens to have both in spades.

Great Dialogue, Great Story. There was some sort of moral in there, I think. Would'nt know cause I got lost in the..... ahem........ shall we say assets of the protagonist.

I think it's sad that people will only focus on the T'n'A. It was a really compelling read.

Snagged the last (only?) copy at the shop on a lark-- and it's the best thing I've read this month. Woot!

This book was great.
Most surprising to me was how much FRANK MILLER was being channelled by Kyle Baker into the book, it was very reminiscent of Frank in both tone and appearance. Has Kyle said anything about it?
Moral to the story? Sure, it's clear that Kyle's outraged by the war, but I give him kudos that he lets that come through with some subtlety (ok, not that much!) instead of going Michael Moore on us.
One interesting concept that did shine through was the idea that "War reveals one's true inner nature." False heroes dump in their pants, and the teen troublemaker is a born warrior. And the autistic is a bizarre beacon of bravery,single-minded purpose, and nobility.
Kyle's a really gifted creator, we're lucky he continues to share with us. His Nat Turner is really worth digging up if you get a chance, and his run on the Shadow as well. Keep it comin' Kyle!

I Loved this comic. Can't wait for the second issue to come out. Have you seen the cover for #2? It's amazing! Can't recommend Special Forces strongly enough. Buy this book!
And give my comic a try, too...

I loved the first issue, but I can see this one being a good read in trade. So, I'm waiting for that one. Best art he has ever done, though...
