There were some questions on the POWERS Handbook Art thread about this book and since I don't want the answers buried I thought I might just post this seperately.

So, why in the heck am I qualified to be writing about this? Well in this case I'm the man behind the man, having written the book at the request and suggestion of Brian and Mike. After constructing the POWERS site: http://www.hiddenrobot.com/POWERS they thought I would be the natural choice to attempt something like this. After several months the process of writing and revising was complete.

At last check there are at least 55 character bios and some of those count multiple mini-bios such as team entries like Unity (5 contained within one). The rumor of 300 characters probably started when the reference of 200+ characters spanning the history of the series was stated by Brian on this site announcing the book. Well after cataloging the entire 10+ volumes, every character, location, term, media, on panel/off panel reference, the list was 11 pages long...we chose the most prominent and noteworthy.

Other notes - I was given scripts through #29 and Annual #2 so there'll be stuff in the handbook that takes us beyond the current storyline, it will be fresh for sometime to come.

After realizing we had nearly 70 pages of text, the book was bumped up in size! I won't reveal final page count but it's longer than originally solicited at not change to the cost! Very generous considering the cake for the extra pages comes right out of Brian/Mike's bottom line. Their good folks that care about readers and delivering on the best possible entertainment experience.

Marvel Editor Jen Grunwald has been very, very busy putting the final production touches on this and organizing the entire thing, while series colorist Nick Filardi as delivered some spectacular color versions of Mike's art. And on that note - this is indeed all fresh and new art we're seeing from Mike, with choice archive art to supplement each character's tale.

There you go, I hope that helps get folks interested and informed. This is going to be a fun book and well worth the money!

Sounds awesome. I was stoked for this as is, but the talk of extra pages makes it even better.

Major kudos to you guys for not jacking up the price because of the extra pages, too.
