At its WizardWorld panel, Top Cow lined up creators for its upcoming projects, as well as announced the return of a creator who’s been away for far too long.
First up, Tony Daniel’s Humankind #1, shipping in August, will have three covers, one by Daniel, one by Greg Land, and one by Marc Silvestri.
Also in August, Ian Edginton will start a two-part Withblade arc, drawn by Daniel. Issue #78 will have two covers, one by Land, and one by Daniel. Retailers will be able to order the covers separately.
The publisher’s other notable book in August is a new Magdalena/Vampirella crossover, by Robert Kirkham and artist Francis Manapul.
September sees Top Cow launching a new property called Myth Warriors. The 128 page graphic novel will be written by Robert Place and drawn by a new talent from the Phillipines.
The solicitation copy for Myth Warriors reads:
Eric Volker is a typical skateboarding Los Angeles teenager. But everything changes when he discovers the amulet that controls an ancient, gigantic mecha warrior. Eric takes the pilot seat and becomes embroiled in an intergalactic war against the Anibus and Osiris mechs, in a battle that will decide the fate of the Earth! Manga master Robert Place Napton (Appleseed, Macross) delivers "manga trade" action wrapped in a beautiful cover by Francis Manapul (Witchblade)!
September also sees the beginning of a three issue Tomb Raider storyarc drawn by Eric Basaldua.
October sees a new direction for Witchblade with #80, as Ron Marz takes over as regular writer of the book, and Top Cow artist Michael Choi takes the reins.
In November, David Lapham of Stray Bullets fame will start a four-part arc of the Darkness with #17.
On tap for a late 2004 release is a Pitt/Darkness special by Dale Keown, and a new Battle of the Planets: Princess miniseries written by David Wohl, with art by Wilson Tortosa.
