Steven T. Seagle (it's a bird, Uncanny X-Men, Superman, Sandman Mystery Theater) has had his debut theatrical production as writer/producer/director extended. After selling out the last few weeks, the controversial comedy N*GGER WETB*CK CH*NK has been continued through May 29 at the 260 seat Los Angeles Theater Centre located at 514 S. Spring Street in Downtown Los Angeles, California.

Presented by the prestigious Latino Theater Company, the show is dubbed "The Comedy With The Title No One Wants To Say!" Co-written with the show's stars, Miles Gregley, Rafael Agustin, and Allan Axibal, N*W*C deconstructs notions of race in America through broad comedy, slam poetry, and a bit of hip-hop. Seagle's comic book connection even sneaks through in one segment that addresses the lack of an iconic Asian super-hero.

"Response to the show continues to be overwhelming," says Seagle, "As word of mouth got out, we started seeing the house build downtown, and we started selling out just as we had at UCLA's 600 seat Freud Playhouse last fall. And the best thing is, this show attracts and works for everybody - young, old, whatever ethnicity, they all laugh. I've even met some comic book fans who came to check it out!" Seagle's significant other, co-writer and co-director Liesel Reinhart jokes, "And any comic fans who want to meet Steve can find him in the lobby selling T-Shirts on the nights that our crew doesn't show up!"

The play is produced through Seagle's company Speak Theater Arts. Extensive information, as well as a growing list of glowing reviews can be found at their website: www.speaktheaterarts.com.

Shows run Thursday - Saturday @ 8PM with a matinee Saturdays @ 2PM. Tickets are available online at www.tickets.com (keyword NWC) or through the Ford Box Office at 323-461-3673 or 888-464-2468.
