Oh, definitely. As I mentioned with the handbook illustrations, because Oeming is the only, and thus, definitive artist for this series (as opposed to Batman, who has had several hundred artists drawing him, and as such, several different looks that people prefer amongst themselves, which is why I bet more than a few people questioned his look in B:TAS), his style would almost certainly be perfect for Powers, whereas hiring actors and doing it live action could cause some to have a quibble or two with the way their favourite characters look.

Anyway, Mid-November can't come fast enough.

I would not suspect so. The Encyclopedia is 72 pages. That is nearly itself a TPB! :) we might see some art or other things related but that's up to Brian/Mike/and editor Jen G & CB Cebulski.

Well, a regular Powers issue is around 30 pages, so the Enclopedia will be like 2 1/2 issues or so. If they wanted, I can see them adding it to a TPB. As it is, all the Powers TPB have variable page counts. For example, the "Roleplay" is a small one where "Forever" is a big honking one.

I guess we will see, as it is I just can't wait for the single issue of this puppy to show up. :cool:

I'm thinking it's been pulled back to time with the release of the second hardcover, which, to be honest, I cannot find on Marvel anymore.

Really, given that all I seem to be missing out on is the letter pages, and the issues presented in the proper, chronological order (i.e. the Warren Ellis issue actually being between 'WKRG' and 'Roleplay'), I'm seriously considering trading in my hardcover for trades.

EDIT: Also, given that they suggest the handbook contains details of events that have not yet happened in the series, perhaps they're delaying it up to a point where they feel comfortable that they're not giving too much away.

Dude - hang in there. I'm as anxious as you, trust me. I don't want to be an apologist or a but I am a bit of shill, so I did speak to the editor 2 weeks ago. Progress continues to be made, but it was being juggled amonst the single issues, 2 trades, and the hardcover. It's jut not really a priority in the scheme of things, especially measured against the hardcover. I say that and this is a book I wrote!

I am going to choose to believe from now on that the Powers Encyclopedia is an urban legend. :p

I NEVER saw Powers: Issue 29 although the Marvel site said it was supposed to have been be out on April 23 (http://www.marvel.com/catalog/?id=7697).

I will be releasing even more information about the handbook on the POWERS podcast sometime soon! No power grids this round - there is a facts section that illustrates abilities, powers, etc as well as the power level of a character which is how heroes/villians are characterized in the book.
