Here's a list. (http://forevergeek.com/sci-fi/top_10_worst_sci-fi_shows_ever_wvideos.php):D i would at lest put Painkiller Jane on that list.
Oh, and I'm trying to remember another bad Sci-fi TV show about tuff cop who meet a alien woman in a made for TV movie I think was one NBC where they hunt down a evil alien that kills and then takes over other people bodies. It was a not to bad TV movie but after the evil alien died in the movie someone who seemed to turn off there thinking cap turned the the movie into a really bad Sci-fi TV show with just the tuff cop and the alien woman. And the evil alien was long dead in the made for TV movie and never made it in the TV show even the title I can't remember for the life of me was about the evil alien.

M.A.N.T.I.S. truly was bad because of the crappy SFX. Viper was a nice Knight Rider substitute (which TKR was not - but more like what M.A.S.K. would be as a life-action series).
Manimal and Automan were cool when I was a wee lad.
I never watched Cleopatra 2525 and after seeing that intro I'm glad. That theme "song" makes your ears bleed.

Wasn't it basically made to be a sci-fi version of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys/Xena: Warrior Princess?
Really it was one of those "made for syndication" shows like Jack of all Trades and The Lost World.
Where Cleopatra went wrong was casting, I think, a music group as it's lead.

I don't know. There are many levels of "Best" and "Worst" really "Best" can be really subjective. "Worst" is easier because production values and acting are easier to judge on obviously bad shows.

Automan was awesome. I used to watch it when I was a kid and going through my "Tron" phase. The only thing I remember about Manimal was that it was a frequently punchline on SNL - especially the show hosted by Brandon Tartikoff.

I actually like the Hoff. I saw him star in "Jekyl and Hyde" on Broadway a few years ago. I remember the commericals for the show ended with The Hoff, in Hyde gear, looking at the TV and saying "It's no day at the beach!!". I immediately called Ticketmaster and bought two seats. :D

Cleopatra 2525 was a jiggle show and as such was beyond such petty concerns as quality. :D
The pilot for M.A.N.T.I.S. was cool. The one where he's got these genius African exchange students as sidekicks. The series did suck however.
Quark gets points for being a Buck Henry (co-creator of Get Smart) concept.

Yea, the made for TV movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM7uaMhvR00) made an OK movie but when the Evil Alien dies in the movie there's not much you can go from there. But someone who seems to have turned there brain off says let's make a TV show (http://www.tv.com/something-is-out-there/show/8798/summary.html) even that the Evil Alien is dead we still call it "Something is out There" and just have it around the tuff cop and the alien woman. Only lasted one one season before it was cancelled.

I have a feeling that I may get verbally assualted for this one, but Stargate SG-1 is my nod for one of the crappiest Sci-Fi shows ever made. Yes, The film was pretty cool. Yes, I like Stargate Atlantis. But I can't watch a single SG-1 episode in its entirety without cringing at the crappiness of it and changing the channel after five minutes. Man, that show sucks.

Yeah but after the initial movies Germany caught on quite fast on the fact how crappy it was and stopped airing it, while it was still produced for America/Canada. :p
Oh andwe , too, hate David Hasselhoff. He was only popular due to Knight Rider fame anyway.

No, I think there's a lot of truth in this. It shows how much I like Sci-Fi that I sat through almost every episode of this show multiple times despite the fact that I didn't really like it on the strength of a mediocre film, decent cast and good first couple of episodes.
I kept thinking 'it's a good idea in principle'. Which, to be fair, it is. It just virtually never lived up to that.

1. Painkiller Jane - made a good TV movie but a really REALLY bad TV show.
2. VIPER - I never liked that show when it was on NBC.
3. M.A.N.T.I.S - I just never got that show.
4. Team Knight Rider - Like I need to say why that sucked.
5. Automan - I'm still trying to forget I ever saw that one.
6. Lex the show - what can I say it was bad.
7. Nightman - It was bad but not that bad.
8. The Dresden Files - I just don't care about that show.
9. Earth: Final Conflict - Did anyone understand any of this show???
10. Something is out There - like Painkiller Jane had a good TV movie but awful TV show.

I remember one time I came home to do laundry and found both my parents glued to the TV watching a show called Tales from a Parallel Universe. It was so out of character for them that I started watching it too. But I just couldn't get into it, and proceded to make fun of them for watching it.
And then it just disappeared.
Then, it showed up again on the Sci-Fi channel, with a new series name ("Lexx") and a new actress playing the female lead. I guess a lot of people dug Xenia as Xev, but I really preferred Eva Habermann.

I agree with this quote. There has been a lot of crappy Sci-Fi over the years (A LOT). I am really picky when it comes to Sci-Fi shows and the only one I have ever been able to sit down and enjoy on a semi regular basis (I don't think I was ever bored or not entertained) was Farscape. That was a truly remarkable show.

Wow, I got one (surprised GCom didn't list it), the original version of the Tomorrow People.
I thought it was one of the coolest shows ever when I was a kid, but after seeing it now (well, lets just say I spend my time on other matters) :)
There was an updated version that Nickalodeon did which was still very good, and something I think I can tolerate when I finally get up the nerve to order it. :)
I really did like Mantis (at least I did when I saw the initial movie), but with the changes to the series, it seemed to leave a bad taste in my mouth. :(

You know what the worst part of Seaquest was?
It wasn't when they got transported to an alien ocean using advanced Sharkjump technology.
It wasn't when the DeLuise brothers came onto the cast as a street-wise seaman and an over-sized bullet-stopper with retard-strength.
It was when they brought frickin Michael Ironside onto the cast as captain and did not have him immediately start whupping asses while doing that grimace/smile of his.

Man, aside from the effects (which were passable for the '80s) that show rocked. I still wish there'd been a second season. Years ago, I read an interview with the creators which said they were trying to get a second season which would ditch the requirements for ___ minutes of combat and "interactiveness" every episode. I just always wondered how they'd deal with the death of Pilot.

At first I thought this was going to be one of those lists by someone who acts like they've never seen anything not done in the last 10 or 15 years. Then I saw "Manimal" on the list. Yes, they're familiar with the "classics," all right!
I would argue with "Far Out Space Nuts." That was a 1970s live-action Saturday-morning show. Those were kind of in a class by themselves. I don't know that prime-time standards of good and bad really apply to low-budget children's shows like that. It's like putting an 8-mm film effort by an ambitious small-town little theater group on a "Ten Worst Films" list.

Yea, you are a mostly a young crowd. Seeing mostly reruns of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea on the Sci-fi channel and seeing Seaquest DSV it was nothing but a ripoff of that show.
As for "Misfits of Science (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkpN9Z96oIw)" i was just trying to cover that little mistake up. I was made but the same guy that made "The A-Team" I mean how could it go wrong.:D

I really liked Earth: final conflict for the first several seasons. But by the last season, it was like the writers just didn't have it in them. But it was weird to see the former androdgynous Tae'lon characters reincarnated as a hot babe Atavus.
The show also had to retcon most of the prior seasons due to cast changes EVERY SEASON. Only the dude that played Liam stayed around for a while.

I'd put the live-action Spider Man series right next to The Man From Atlantis. Although MFA had some moments, all I remember from Spider Man is thinking you could see the climbing rig every time they did an exterior building climbing shot.
There's been so much bad sci fi TV that it's hard to nail down just 10 of the worst. Surface from a couple years ago would top some people's list, as well as Threshold, although both were entertaining in their own way. Surface in a "how many more bad sci-fi shows and movies can they rip off" way, and Threshold was actually just pretty darn good, and would have gotten a second season on any other network than CBS(I).
I remember Manimal...mostly I remember bad transformation effects, and him changing into a bunny and sticking his wee little bunny head into someone's cleavage. Ditto with Automan, minus the cleavage.
Anyone remember Wizards and Warriors? I remember laughing a lot while watching. I was 12, of course, so I can't really say if that's good or bad.

Sadly, I remember watching the "Man from Atlantis". I'm sure that they are still laying at the bottom of my Mom's old wooden chest along with the autographed picture of Nicholas Hammond that I was so sure would be worth a mint by now.

Mantis wasn't all that bad. It was actually pretty good with a solid
lead actor in Carl Lumbly.
Cleopatra 2525 was pretty bad. I actually watched half a season and
pretty much tried to end it all once. There was some great eye candy in
it though.
Nightman... ooooh, that was baaaaad.
Manimal, I have fond memories of this show. I liked the concept and had
a great time watching it as a kid.
Automan, while it was a bit cheesy, for it's time it was innovative and
new. I still have fond memories of cursor.
I think I'm one of two people in the world that actually liked and
watched the whole Viper series... what there was of it.
I didn't even know they made another Knight Rider series.
Mutant X wasn't THAT bad. I was suckered in thinking it was going to be
something like the comic series, then was intrigued by the storyline
itself. It had some great moments.
The one I remember most fondly is Greatest American Hero... that show
still rocks and just bought the DVD set.
Who remembers Mann and Machine?
Buffy since saison 3, and X-Files since saison 4 were for me the worst. A total misdirection after a very good beginning.
SiiGh ! Since that, I hate Whedon & Carter.
After, there is Stargate Atlantis... Sadly... Because I liked Stargate SG1...
And of course the very bad Mutant X. My god... And nevertheless there was a potential. And the bad guy was not bad...
Few coments on another :
Manimal : was not very good , ok, but it was fun. And I like the music of generic.
Gene Rodenberry's Earth Final conflit : very good saison 1, few casting-problems in saison 2 (the idea to kill and remplace Boone was completely bad) and also few scenaristic misdirection in the beginning, but there was a little improved at the middle-season...
After, I don't know because I had no access to the other seasons in my country...
I would like to have an integrale DVD of this serie, zone 2, original version with subtitles + french version. Sadly, I wait, I wait, but never arrives...
Twilight Zone '85 : I just have seen the first half of the saison 1 in dvd.
Strange : I like it now, but not in the 80's. There are few good episodes... Sincerly. Not as good as the Rod Serling's ( I'm very fan), but as good enough...
Man From Atlantis (I don't know if it is the same whose I remember... Patrick Duffy ? ...) and Misfits of Science was fun at least...That saves them, for me...
Has anyone mentioned Yancy Butler's old series Man and Machine from what i remember it didn't stand out to much. The mortal kombat series is on the fence for me as far as crap tv shows

I considered Earth:Final Conflict almost unwatchable from the first episode (kinda like Flash Gordon). But what you describe reminds me of the short-lived War of the Worlds series. I really enjoyed the first season, but they made so many cast changes and utterly stupid plot revisions for the second season that I stopped watching and didn't care when it ended.

Space 1999 had potential but always came up short. I always wondered why there were so many British people on a moonbase commanded by an American.

I think Space: Above and Beyond went downhill the first time they had a squadron of fighter pilots do overtime as infantry.
If the war is going so badly that you have to send your best pilots out on routine infantry patrol missions, guess what? You've lost the war.

Hey does anyone remember that show with the Australian guy in the old energizer commercials, Highway Men? or something?.
The Highwayman (http://imdb.com/title/tt0093189/). It starred Sam Jones of Flash Gordon fame and Jane Badler from V. His...his truck cab turned into...a...helicopter. Ahem.
Space 1999 had potential but always came up short. I always wondered why there were so many British people on a moonbase commanded by an American.
I never missed Space:1999 as a kid. I had this gigantic toy verion of one of the Eagles that was completely modular...the cockpit module could separate and so forth...it was very detailed for a toy.
But the concept...it wasn't so bad that a bunch of British people were following Martin Landau around. It was the fact that the show had replaced the USS Enterprise with the frigging moon.
But I tend to think all the really interesting stuff was happening back on Earth. You know Earth went all Thundarr the Barbarian, with Moks and radioactive sorceress b<aaa>itches running around in G-strings and such. Meanwhile, Moonbase; Alpha is just meeting alien british chicks with sideburns, yo.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned V: the Series. I remember the first two mini series before it became a weekly show. They were so good back then. At least they seemed that way when I was young. I liked the main hero. The guy that was in Beastmaster.
Speaking of Beastmaster, that's another movie that was made into a weekly show that I haven't seen mentioned. I haven't seen it enough to know if it was good or bad though.

Hell yeah! Lexx was a great series. Yes, it was over the top and crammed full of gratuitous T 'n A. But it also had a lot of interesting and solid Sci-fi concepts, some really fun, cool characters, and a remarkably well executed internal continuity. Don't let the cheesecake fool you. Hell, the original Star Trek was almost as gratuitous by the standards of it's time, didn't get in the way of some really good sci-fi.
