Batman: Absolution

Writer: J. M. DeMatteis
Art: Brian Ashmore

OK, my buddy Matt bought this quite some time ago. He's a hardcore Batman fan, and he hates it. I read it, and I hate it. Another friend of ours read it, and he never even finished it.

But for some reason, that's all the talk I've ever heard about this book. Has anybody else even read this steaming pile?

Here's the deal. There's this neo-religious cult terrorist chick who once bombed a hospital in Gotham and Batman has caught her trail again and is trying to bring her in. He goes to India for some reason that is never fully explained, and then there's this whole subplot where he's talking to a nun and says there's no such thing as redemption.

So what gives?

Personally, I give this an F. It wasn't a Batman story. It was about some guy named Bruce Wayne that dressed up in a cowl with pointy ears, but it sure as heck wasn't Batman.

Again... F, as in "Friggin' sucked".

Totally, this comic blew. I mean I love Batman. As far as I am concerned life doesn't get much better than when I am reading a great hardcore, kick in the the teeth Batman comic. It ranks up there with a good cigar, spicy food, and cold Dr. Pepper. I am of the opinion that DeMatteis needs to get shot for this travesty.

I mean come on what was he even thinking or was he even thinking. Goodness, this comic was so bad it puts a bad taste in my mouth just to even think about it.

Well thats my opinion anyway. I gotta go rinse my mouth out with listerine so... Later...

P.S.
This is Aaron's buddy that is mentioned in the previous post.
