LAST DAY OF COMIC-CON SOLD OUT

SAN DIEGO- Comic-Con, the nationıs largest comic book and pop culture event announced that Sunday admissions have sold out.

"I guess this was bound to happen, but itıs still surprising," said David Glanzer, spokesperson for the non profit event, "for the first time in our 38 year history, Comic-Con has sold out of Friday, Saturday and now Sunday admissions."

Because of capacity concerns during last years Comic-Con, organizers made a concerted effort to address potential overcrowding.

"One way to anticipate attendance was to encourage early online registration," continued Glanzer "which progressed much quicker than in previous years." Pointing out that while registration was closed for a time last year the facility never reached capacity.

Comic-Conıs efforts at early registration presumably will help them better control crowd issues at what has become the largest comic book and pop culture event in the United States.

Comic-Con International is a non profit educational organization dedicated to creating awareness of and appreciation for comics and related popular art forms primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.

God, I'm glad I decided against going this year. Last year was bad enough. It's getting to the point of being stupidly overcrowded.

I couldn't agree more. It is nice to to somewhere lively, but I've yet to hear anything from friends who are there on both sides of the tables that'd make me sad to not be there.

I don't really care to stand in line for an hour beforehand in order to attend a panel I'd like to see, so I've missed out on most of the panels I wanted to attend. One of the panels I wanted to see but missed out on was Torchwood - a TV show that hasn't even aired here in the States yet. WTF?

If these convention halls are not big enough to accommodate people, they REALLY have to consider moving to a different city that CAN handle the crowd.

I did, however, get to go to the small Valiant Comics panel today which was a great time. It actually reminded me of the early Comic-Cons I'd attend, when Valiant was still in business and the movie and TV industries hadn't taken over the Con.
