Walking Dead #39 - Damnit Kirkman...

Brilliant issue - Those complaining of slow pacing will be happy with this issue, a lot gets done.

Basically *SPOILERS*:

- The raiders ARE from Woodbury
- Glen gets shot, but the riot gear stops the blast from penetrating
- Lori goes into labour
- Dale and Billy (Who gets LOADS of much needed screen time - Cheers Rob!), go to the parking lot for gas, but get attacked several times.
- Dale eventually gets bitten, but seems in pretty good shape otherwise.
- Tyreese, Axel and the others return from the station and Wal*Mart with supplies and gas
- Lori's baby gets delivered....no, I won't tell you what happens; it's the most suspenseful parts of the issue!

Allen died because Rick hacked at his leg a hundred times with a dirty hatchet with zombie guts all over it.

Hopefully with their access to the prison infermery now, they can remove Dale's foot with some actual surgical tools.

If they do remove is foot without him losing too much blood, we still don't know if the infection will stop though. Also, I have a feeling a few others may die given this cover for #43.

I can see them seriously "trimming" back the cast a lot and forcing them out of the prison. The book has become so bloated with new characters over the past year that its nigh-impossible to jump into the book now as a new reader (not that i recommend that).

Plus, the arrived at the prison at the end of issue #12. Issue #39 came out today. That's 27 issues theyve spent now at the prison. It's time to move on for the sake of the book not becoming stagnant.

Yeah, that's what I think "The Time Has Come" line for the #42 solicit is about. I think that they will be forced out of the prison by Woodbury.

Glenn won't die anytime soon just for the reason that he is Kirkman's favorite character. If he doesn't die from a point blank shot from a M4 he won't die.:)

Yes they are. So far Lori and Rick/Shane have added one, now it is up to Andrea+Dale(they have done the nasty),Glenn+Maggie, and possibly Billy+Alice if they start a relationship.

Back in issue 37 when a group went out to the National Guard depot and the only males that stuck behind were Rick, Dale and Billy. I said wtf? Rick has one hand, Dale is older and is watching the twins while Andrea goes, but what is Billys excuse? He is just lazy.


But then again, his first big day in the sun and he potentially gets Dale killed. Maybe he isnt that great after all.

They didn't think of wearing the body armor? Also, if Dale didn't go BIlly may have been ate by the zombies. Didn't Glenn go to college though, so I would put him over 21 if he did.

Not only did they not wear the riot gear. When they were running out to the parking lot Billy starts shooting his gun off like a crazy person and attracts more zombies. I'm sure that didnt help.

And yes, I remember now that Glenn did attend some college. So im gonna guess his age is around 20.

That was really not smart, but how many zombies were there though, they pretty much cleared them all out last time when the zombies got into the prison so there couldn't have been too many.

There wasnt alot. Billy killed I think 2 zombies on the way to the parking lot.

Dale got bitten in the same way that Allen got bit. On the ankle by a zombie hiding.

That truly sucks. I think that they should all start wearing really knee-high boots now.;)

This is what it looked like to me: a zombie came out from under a car and attacked Dale, and Billy hit it in the head with a gas can. He then fired at it and missed. Dale assumed it was "dead," so he turned his back on it and was bitten. That's the only way it could be considered BIlly's fault. Otherwise, he was on siphon duty while Dale was supposed to be keeping a lookout for the zombies.

let me start off by saying I like TWD and I"ve been a long time supporter.

But if you bill it as a earthshattering issue, it shojuld deliver. It's a simple as that. A lot of us were just getting a little annoyed is all what with all the padding issues lately and them staying at the prison and not doing much of anything for a while.

I understand much of the book is about the drama that plays out between teh survivors and each person's psyche as they are slowly changed by this, but give us some GD ACTION!!!11!!! :mad: ;) :D
